I have a 2007 model toyota passo with me since last 8 years. Its now almost 200,000 km driven. Since last 1 year, car acceleration / performing is very sluggish with AC.
Last year summers, full AC system was flushed and compressor and condenser was changed. Car remains sluggish and little no improvement in AC performance.
Regular maintenance is done every 5000 km. Throttle body was inspected and cleaned. CAT has been inspected and cleaned once and also changed once (not removed). Issue didn't solve.
Now the interesting part: Car's ABS unit malfunctioned few months back. It was not maintaining pressure. ABS was replaced with kabli unit. Mechanic replaced ABS with some wrong car ABS. Driving back at home, i noticed that checklight was ON and speedometer was not working. But amazingly car drive was much better. Acceleration was good. EPS steering was not hard. Acceleration was good even with AC.
Next day correct ABS unit was installed. Car is again sluggish and slow with / without AC. EPS is again a little harder. I have been driving car with ABS unit unplugged this summer. It has been driving very good with the downside of speedometer/mileage meter and ABS not working.
How should I diagnose this issue. Desi mechanics do not want to invest time in debugging real issue. They always do the same thing. Throttle body clean ker loo. Spark plug change ker lo. CAT saaf ker loo. My guess is it might be electrical issue or some bad sensor that is causing AFR to mess up. Apparently when ABS is removed, car goes in LIMP mode and drives much better.
Could it be related to spark timing? Is there any OBD scan tool available in market that I can connect with my mobile/laptio to constantly monitor all sensors data?
