Rebound damping is the pull out resistance of the working piston, to test it you need to clamp the unit on the floor and fully compress the piston then pull it out with force, You will notice it.

Assalam o Alikum Zulfiqar bhai,

My Accord Euro (AKA Acura TSX CU2 in US) has an electrical issue.

The battery died as it has been left parked during COVID lockdown for 3-4 months now.
After swapping the battery, I connected -ve terminal first due to lack of knowledge. I believe it blew the fuse.
I replaced the multi fuse in the engine bay, but it still does not start.

Ever since I changed the battery, when I plug the battery terminals, the front + rear headlights and 4 hazards come on and stay on. The dashboard and other parts of the car have no power.

Where should I start to diagnose + fix this issue?
Please advise.

in 12 years of learning from zulfiqar sab postings i trained almost every mt workshop of my posting station how to replace battery in any electronic fuel ( computer wali gari ) injection vehicle without disconnecting ecu. a pair of jump cable connected to terminals from standby battery in parallel before removing actual battery from vehicle.

it seems you have over looked the procedure posted by zulfiqar sab number of times.

No I was using other car during this time, so this car wasn't started at all. In hindsight, I should have, but let's not talk about hindsight.

Anyhow, like I said, I mostly like have blown the multi fuse and also replaced it, but still facing the same issue. So not sure how to proceed further.

@Xulfiqar I have sent my Khyber to a good workshop for a total engine rebuild. The head is in good nick - the block will probably require resleeving and/or new pistons and rings. I trust that workshop to use the correct machining techniques, greases and lubes etc.

Anyways, whats the best way to break in a rebuilt engine? Specifically, whats are the ideal steps to seat new piston rings correctly?

Does the engine have to be left on idle for an hour (~900 rpm) to check for leaks and odd noises? Or does it immediately needs to be run on fast idle (to warm up quickly), and then taken for a mid-high rpm, high load run? Does it need to be redlined under load? Or is ~80% redline enough?

i have one 1979, KE 30 waiting for body restoration. just incase in next 2 months if you choose to part from the grey top let me know. my KE-30 is in stock condition with few panels rusting. Have an standing offer for 350,000 from neighbor next door. but it is not for sale.

As per the design of the exhaust manifold it should have 2 cat conv. right?
my cars bogs down a lot under acceleration and you can hear/feel that the exhaust took a "sukh ka saans"
Also there is a vibration that can be felt throughout the vehicle at around 1500 RPM while driving and idle as if the engine is stuttering
the car in question is a gx110 Mark II

Hi Xulfiqar.
I have been painting the panels on my car(98 civic) using glasurit system. I stripped the panels completely to reprime and paint for that indestructible finish. The paint stripper worked fine on the panels but it has no effect on the bumpers themselves. I even gouged it with 150grit and reapplied the but to no avail. I even heated it to 35-40 degrees but that had no effect either. I really don't want to sit and sand the entire bumper as that's time consuming. Please share some tips to strip it off as easily as possible. Any help will be much appreciated

please share the engine code of your vehicle. It is punched over the silver ID plate in engine bay or over the passenger side pillar of the vehicle.

took out both upstream O2 sensors and used a borescope to see what's going on inside
i guess the cat's have been gutted

for once you may try Irshad 0300 223 7538 for cat cleaning service. Lately he got an old audi a-4 cat con cleaned. vehicle was 135000 km A new unit for replacement was Rs. 85000, 3 week delivery. Owner a PW member's friend from islamabad got exhaust system removed and took it to Irshad shop.

He charged 12000 for cat cleaning only. The owner took back complete exhaust to Audi shop got it installed and scanned, vehicle gave no error and fuel efficiency / pickup got restored.
