What do you recommend for polishing the inside door panels and dashboard of a merc w204, anything i use leaves a residue like makes it faded and lightens its natural black texture

I have always used plain moisturizing baby soap and water to clean dashboard and side panels,

However if you have used very caustic soap you may be having a chalky appearance, for that you can use a heat gun (on plastics) or a plastic protectant without silicones to give it the natural luster it had once.

If the plastics have faded and literally changed colour, you will need to remove and paint them again. (Very common on this era mercedes cars including s classes)

So what is your suggestion that as per your observation, 96% were seal leakage caused engine oil loss so in that case, will just changing valve seals will sort issue or complete overhaul is again recommended?

You are right, people keep on cranking the car and then becomes satisfy with those compression readings..........

Sorry for late response. Sir car is Toyota Belta 1000cc. I am using coolant Caltex with 50/50 mix ratio and thermostat valve is intact and having fan Auto. I got my car scanned from Iqbal suzuki he gave me DataStream report showing no value but CL against Fuel system Status # 1.

Sir , got my car scanned from Iqbal Shahid Suzuki. Actually, I am facing occasional car restarting problem after 30minutes of shutdown (Mostly after been traveled for at least 10 kms). This problem happens only one or two times in a week period. Unable to sort it out yet. Most of the mechanics are saying its fuel pump problem, although I got my fuel pressure checked recently from Abdul Hameed at preedy street which was found to be 34-35 PSI. Kindly help me out!!

He was also doubtful regarding fuel pump but he suggest to show the car to Auto electrician first. I consulted Abid Hameed at preedy. He did complete diagnostics and told me that the car is otherwise fit. However, the occasional restarting problem persists.

Is Fuel pump short?You can check at Shakeel, 13-D, he deals in used pumps as well as repairing of old ones too.

I dont know what the qualifications are of these diag techs in Pk now, but I usually diagnose a fuel pump by checking its amp pull on the wiring and if required I pull the data containing how many poles the pump motor has and then use an oscope to see the commutator passes against time plot to calculate rpm.

Anyway, fail to start when warm is a sign of failing crank sensor, check its output directly with oscope when its failing to identify it, hunting for codes wont work as no japanese car will ever show an intermittent crank sensor fault on ecu.

Thanks for input sir. pakistani diagnostic tech might not be competent enough to utilise specialised techniques for fuel pump performance testing.

I would check both things you mentioned one by one.. I would replace fuel pump first and if problem persisted, would replace crank sensor..

Anything further you would suggest to look for?

call up Fareed 0300 899 3993 at plaza across preedy police station masjid. 9.30 am to 6 pm he is there Monday to Saturday., he is old school but his son has complete auto electrician certificate course from St.Pats' Tech school, the skilled boy coupled with his fathers' experience for diagnostics & resolve is good. Highly reasonable prices, docile guys. Reference Instructor from police school garden. Advantage they have is nearby plaza market & magazine lane almost everything available in 30 minutes.

This is childs play in car repair - its 2022, I was doing this a decade ago too.

dont just replace the crank sensor - you may have a wiring issue to the crank sensor too. Its best to test the crank sensor waveform before condeming the sensor.

Its checked first at the sensor, then at the ecu connector. Remedy any anomaly that you see, on VR sensors the wires are shielded or twisted - do not untwist them or undo the shield.

Long long long ago a few hundred Balenos from PS had faulty wiring to the crank sensor where the wiring shield was broken near the alternator, As the alternator aged - the wiring would pick up noise and create havoc with those psuedo signals.

The course outlined by Mr Samuel is very good, and they do teach the commuator rpm read with oscope.
