How to know that the catalytic is culprit and making car performance sluggish at certain rpms also if there is no DTC on scanner.
Today I was testing my car corolla Gli automatic for performance i noticed that car some times accelerate perfectly and sometimes it becomes sluggish like hell also sometimes car stutter at 6000rpms and holds there for a quite a while to change gears. It was like something was preventing it from going beyond 6000 rpms.
In this matter fuel pump is newly installed.
What could be possible cause of this behaviour.

check for VVTI solenoid sensor - if it is getting signal pulse from ecu and working.

That thing is happening in 3rd gear mostly.

Should I replace my Civic 95 aka dolphin conventional air filter with a cold air-intake pipe? Romour has it that it may add some horsepower to the engine like 50HP.
Will it increase the performance or cause more harm than good to the engine (D16ZC)? Also, will it increase or decrease fuel consumption?

if there is intermittent engine check light code may be P0300 and P0011. But for that you may need Toyota proprietary Techstream

Today was busy day will get it checked tomorrow will see whats wrong.
There was no check engine light or codes on basic obd 2 scanner.

Bhai CAI can only 4 to 7 hp max to NA setup if good quality one is used. Hope you have not mixed turbocharger with CAI the power you mentioned can only be added by turbocharges not a cold air intake.
Fuel consumption can be improve very little with CAI if you drive it gently will waste fuel if you go aggressive.

black plastic ones? Ive usually seen the bearings as metal units on struts, they are thrust bearings and can be disassembled if you are very careful. Otherwise its wise to replace them as whole unit as the strut mount wears out too over time. (strut meaning suspension strut)

I need to start the car to take it to the electrician, but the ignition coil is not supplying current to the distributor. The last time I called in an electrician, he bypassed the ignition coil by unplugging an injector and supplying direct current from the battery - the car started up immediately.

Can you explain how I can replicate this procedure to start the car?

You need to hook the +ive of ignition coil with the +ive of battery. I guess.

The coil has 2 larger prongs, they require 12v to run, This power comes from the ig2 fuse

Why is yours not powering up?

No. It will cause too many issues. Better to change the car for a 660cc newer one
