Today i had the chance to visit a BMW dealership in Madras. As i've mentioned before, BMW(India) is a wholly owned subsidiary of BMW and assembles 3 and 5 series cars with some local content currently, for the Indian market. Infact, BMW's India assembly plant is located in the city i am in at present, namely, Madras(Chennai). BMW sells both local and import cars through it's netwok of authorized dealerships in India. the first model we saw on display, the base 320d (d for diesel)...cost to you Rs 33lacs . Interesting fact i came to know today is that all BMW(India) cars are auto transmission only!.

I've visited the plant last year, was told ok to take pics and then at the end of the tour, was told to erase all pics. Only authorized press photos are available and i have posted those pics on PW. You can try and search them out. I'll give it a try too.

locally assembled 5 series....was not on display as it is BMW(India)'s fastest moving product. This car was a test car. Cost to you Rs.45lacs
