I've mehran 2007. would 1kg paint be enough?

umm - when you apply this type of coat - the idea is to apply only to the body parts and not the removable frames, links etc, Because as it petroleum based it will readily eat out any rubber bushing, And thats the reason I like the 3M product, the spray is very controlled, and the best idea is to use newspapers to isolate suspension and steering parts. Spraying gently in 2 or 3 passes

I was thinking of doing this as my mehran is around 6 years old but your post has made me a little cautious. now, am not sure if I should do this or not as I've changed yesterday the clutch plates, shockers, repaired(?) kamani and put new kamani bushes as well...so don't want to mess it up in any way

so, is there anything else that I can do with underneath of my car? Should I apply ICI autoshield (as someone recommended in another topic) with a brush under the car...only at the metallic areas or is there any other solution which you would recommend.

First of all ici and all these underneath paints are sort of DAMMAR. they doesn't have any role in destroying ur car rubber or metallic part. its purpose is to coat the car so that it cut off from environment... rest choice is urs.

aha, ok bro. I already bought 1 quarter of berger paint today. will go to service shop tomorrow...

Where does one get this stuff from? An auto paint shop I assume, but I don't know any in my area.

you can mask the rubber parts with painter tape etc and coat just the body of the car making sure to first surgically clean the exposed metal as this wont stick to dirt/grease etc. This is a petroleum borne paint and petroleum products will eat rubber parts, whether its oil/petrol/kerosene/diesel/grease/bitumen etc.

thanks bro but what about the diesel or oil that we use after the service beneath the car surface? does it affect the rubber parts as well because whenever I go for service its like a mandatory thing to do...

they eat away rubber parts. and also eat away the rubber coating the factory applied. A generic wash keeps the rusting away, The most usual cause of rusting is "sewage water" as it is highly acidic.
