Autophile: Grande Facelift

MashALLAH @autophile, always love to follow your threads! I had a chance to closely check out a facelift grande and my prefacelift CVTi Altis felt like an xli after that. lol.

Had gone for civic X earlier this year since pre FL grande didnot seem worth the upgrade from the 2014 model, but now they have stepped up the game A LOT. Seriously thinking to trade in the X for the new grande but waiting times are insane and don't want to pay OWN money.

Congratulations on your wonderful purchase, I am sure you would be pleased with what the extra money you paid for it has to offer in this car.

Thank you indeed @fawadakbarkhan. Yes I am so happy to get facelift which cost me a little extra but it's money well spent and I got so many new goodies to enjoy. Alhamdolillah.

I was also going for X but fortunately got Grande Facelift in December else I had to wait till April for it and X as well.

I hope you will be enjoying your X. In a couple of years many new car makers will be producing cars in Pakistan and we will have options other than Corolla and Civic and competition will benefit consumers with better quality and more features.

I bought Corolla Altis 1.6 2012 a few months ago. My previous car was Altis 1.8 2010. I didnot like the transmission as it was jerky. I have changed ATF (Toyota WS). The transmission feels better. Somehow I feel its not as good as the 1.8. Can you please shed some light as you have owned 1.6 which has the same powertrain?

Both 1.6 and 1.8 have different types of transmissions. 1.6 has four speed super ECT or conventional auto gear, while 1.8 has CVTi which has no gears. So experience is different. I liked 1.6 transmission because it was quick and very smooth.

I was talking about previous gen. which were both conventional 4 speed.
If as you said you like the transmission in 1.6 better then I will have to go for atf flush as atf change did not satisfy me.

I don't have experience with previous generation 1.8. But the current generation 1.6 which I drove for 14 months, it's transmission was excellent.

Got my Grande registered today in Islamabad. Cost 59,154 rupees, filer.

Gunned it all the way from Jinnah to Bahria and still this avg. Was 14+ most of the stretch but came down due to dilapidated road and around dozen speed bumps.

Yar meri grande to itni avg nhi kr rahi. 6300 odo meter still in city 8-9 and highway 14. Maine Shell Vpower High octane ka bi tank full krwaya koi fark nhi hua avg mein. Main Shell ka petrol use krta hon. Maine oil bi Tin pack toyota 5w-30 use kia ha after 5000km.

Depends on route as well. Mere office k route pe 16.5 tak ati, market jaon to 6.5 ati. On average 11.5 ati.

I am afraid it creates lot of swirl marks. For Black it is a poison. Your Karcher wash at home i feel is far superior.

Yes once in a while the under chasis should be made clean through service station
