Autophile's Corolla Altis 1.6 2015

@autophile Sir, last week I went to dealership with my father to pay the remaining amount of my car.
There they had the brochure of TPL Pakistan saying 'Kar for Kar'. In case of theft or complete damage they claim to give a replacement Toyota vehicle of the same spec within 7 days.
I'm not comfortable with tracker but tracker is compulsory for TPL insurance and the sales manager quoted 3.9% (72000 for first year and then less in coming years.). He was saying that if any damage happens to car come to dealership get it fixed.
I didn't make a commitment, I was just getting the info. I have a question that if I get insurance without tracker from any other company then in case if damage I have to go to insurance company office or dealership? How it works? Secondly is there any scheme like 7 days car replacement provided by your insurance company? (Askari Insurance, I guess.)

Dealership usually are in regular contacts with all the major insurance companies, incase God forbid there is a damage simply take it to the dealership with your insurance policy, they will do the rest including arranging surveyor, saying it on my personal experience. Well as far as tracker is concerned, i have seen myself tracker ppl installing tracker device believe me u dont wana see what they do to interior of your brand new car. My new altis is due next month, i am also looking for best insurance deal, so far got 3.2 % rate without tracker from efu, thats the corporate rate got thru my employer.

There is full accidental and theft coverage. Not the seven-day thingy, but normal claim period in case of theft. There is nothing like full theft coverage.
1st year -2lac
2nd year -4lacs
3rd year - 6lacs..

Such as if someone living outside Isb/Lhr/Khi gets his car insured from Askari, Efu, Jubilee etc then in case of damage the surveyor has to be called on desired location, car is needed to be taken at their office or their surveyor is present in their every branch office?

Since 2005 I am having insurance and never had to visit any insurance company office. Their reps come to you, check the car, take pics, get copies of invoice and collect crossed cheque and I get documents by courier. In case of repair you call the insurance company office and they pass on your number to surveyor who calls you and you tell him where you want to take your car. That's it.

I have a query, today I noticed that the nav unit provided by IMC in 1.6 is really crappy, at least that's what I have experienced so far..
While using sat nav, I can't switch to usb screen.. If I try to go to the main menu, Screen starts flickering and you can't do anything about it and if you are already using USB or radio feature and want to switch to Satnav screen by pressing the side satnav button.. It doesn't work..
What is it.. Does it happen with you guys as well..

Yep it happens. I think some file may be corrupted while downloading. I listen to music on it via my Ipod and it produces better sound than USB. I do not like its buttons because they often do not do anything when touched.

In any case I do not use Navi much, just kabhi kabhi so it is ok for a free copy

Heartiest Congratulations Bro ... You will love your ride and will not be having any regret in future for sure to opt for 1.6 instead of Gli
Super white color is a super color for me. Use tinted windows if possible if not then use black shades like me to give more look to the car. Some add on that i did, i will recommend same to you.

1. Chrome Grill. it cost me around Rs 1300/-

2. Fog Lights. I used DLAA fog lights because i need some OEM look like lights in bumper. Used DLAA fog lights in My 2012Gli and didn't find any issue in it for two years. It cost me around Rs 2300/- . You can go some good quality fog lights too like depoo , it will cost you around Rs. 7000/-

3. Security System. i opted two way communication RFID security system with push start. Main reason to go for this system is that i want some thing unique for my car. push start system in corolla is very rare, with this system i am like totally hand free , i put remote in pocket, go near the car, car open automatically, sit in car, press the push button and enjoy my drive then push the button again to switch off the car , open the door and go away from the car and car locks automatically . rest i also has the benefit of two way communication with RFID , if some thing went wrong then my remote start beeping loudly and also show what happen to my car in remote screen. it cost me around 32k

4. Seat covers and full floor matting.It cost me total Rs 7000/-. though i was not in favor of seat cover and floor matting but my father insisted so i have no option. To me one should enjoy company fitted seat cover and floor rather then to leave this enjoyment for the next owner.

5.Rear bumper lava lights. cost me Rs 1500/- . Again looks unique and elegant for me.

I have a plan for more add on. will share it once i install them,.

But other option is to keep your car stock like autophile ride to avoid noises and wear and tear(i am not getting though) but if you opt to keep it stock then not even a single add on other wise pura maza b nai aye ga aur aik add on say b masala nikal sakta hai.

I have observed that average meter shows great mileage for initial 20 kms after it is reset and if roads are empty and you have a steady drive in high gears for 20 kms it will show you up to 19 kms, but as soon as you enter a congested area the average falls to 15 and when you have driven more than 80-100 kms, the average stays between 11-12 (all time ac and local).

Most of the time my meter shows 11 to 12 kms so this is the average of my Altis in city in too much congestion.

Same here.. Anyways IMC should offer better units at the time of booking for all variants.. One can pay extra cost.
Anyways now we have to live with it..
You are right iPhone or Ipod provides far more better sound than usb.

Actually in the average meter, there is a bar which shows the current average which you are getting at that point. The other readings show the whole average of a trip/tank.

Actually in the average meter, there is a bar which shows the current average which you are getting at that point. The other readings show the whole average of a trip/tank.

There is a bar which keeps on increasing and decreasing but it give no reading, I mean there are no markers to indicate what's happening. I think you have seen one like that in City or 10th Gen corolla. Or may be I did not notice yet

This bar tells you that how economical you are going at the moment. If that bar is increasing then you are not going economical and vice versa. if you keep your foot light on padel then you will see that bar is not increasing and become stable after two to three dot with stable speed and light foot. This is the same bar like in civic 9th generation. In civic if bar is increasing then you are going with economical but here in corolla it is opposite as explained before.

Sir try to maintain speed at 80km/hr with very light foot on highway . You will only see two to three dots or might be only one dot on bar and the bar will be stable and you are going very economical. Rule of thumb, if there are less dots in bar and stable then you are going economical if more dots in bar then not economical.

As far as i remember, this bar acts like 9th Civic and City. I mean, the bar increases when you go economical and vise versa.

Sir in civic it is same like if bar increases then you go economical but in corolla it is opposite. In corolla when bar decreases then you go economical. floor the pedal and you will see that bar increases instantaneously and you are totally not in economical fuel zone.
