Salam everyone! I have a query related to a unique colour which toyota is offering on 11th gen corolla. The Flaxen Mica (Golden) colour. Infact it's now available in GLi too. I have barely seen 11th gen corolla in this colour. But why? What is the reason that majority of people are not choosing flaxen mica? Although I really loved this colour. It looks ravishing on corolla! And I've noticed that the car looks much bigger and classy in this colour. It gives a class like camry that's what I think. And as it is really unique because everyother person buying corolla in simple white (GLi) which is really common now. So anyone has any reason or fact about the colour so please response. Because I'm very interested in this unique colour!

That's simply because people value resale over personal preference, resale wise, white sells easily as compared to other colours

The idea of tracker is to hide the installation location for the unit, so no one can remove or temper with it. So they "may" remove the dashboard to hide it. I heard that sometimes, they also install it in other locations.

In case of Corolla gaining access to the whole dashboard is a completely different story as compared to other cars. The beige strip spanning the whole length of the dashboard and the glove box once removed provide access to the dashboard's inside. And removing them requires simply pulling out these parts. There are no nuts and bolts. Once the tracker is installed in place, the same pieces are pushed back in and snap into place.

My suggestion to you is to be there when the tracker is installed and remind the person installing two or three times before to take extra care and that you would not be responsible if even a single clip is broken while detaching and attaching the above mentioned parts. Check the car thoroughly once everything is back into place, including the headlights, fog lights, back lights, indicators, fitting, head-unit, wipers, etc.

There are other places too where a tracker maybe installed. The choice of location would depend on the person installing the tracker or the place specified to him by the company of insurance.

Your suggestions are pretty good, however, they refused to allow my father-in-law to be present at the time of installation. So this may depend on the installers.

The installer will detach the parts right in front of the client/attendant. After that leave him be to install the tracker. Once the tracker is installed the same parts are attached again and the user can stand right there. Some installers are strict while others will let you see when he detaches and attaches the two parts. After all, it is the owner's car and he can atleast demand this from them.

I was told to leave too even before the parts were detached. But, I got a chair and placed it right infront of the bonnet. So, it is your car, they can't just kick you away.

The thief can steal the car, but won't be able to disappear as the location would be available with the insurance company. It is game over once the tracker is found and removed from the vehicle. Then, it is similar to a normal car being stolen. But ofcourse, the insurance is still there to cover some of the loss even if the vehicle is not found.

That is true and has been going for many years. Jammers are illegally obtained and block GSM signals.

Autophile sir said the same, that pocket jammers are used to block the signals. And I don't really know what the insurance company does to keep the cars safe from this problem. A car would turn off if it leaves the designated area given by the owner to the insurance company. I am guessing - not sure - that there is some other connection as well. Probably via satellite. This is a big claim, I know, and insurance companies don't really expect us to believe this as it sounds unrealistic or maybe too ideal, but the sales guy said so. Maybe he was only promoting the product.

I don't really know much about how the trackers work. And, I don't have it in any of my cars. Maybe someone else can give a more satisfactory answer.
