Ayubia to Khaira Gali Trek - 11.10.2010

I have completed this trek alone with guide on 11.10.2010. Very scenic. Solitude. Serene views.

This trek follows the pipeline as pipeline trek starts from Dunga Gali and come to Ayubia. But the trek don't end... and goes to murree..

From Ayubia the trek goes to Kuza Gali, Changla Gali and then Khaira Gali. The trek is a bit below than the ridge. These bazars are on the ridge.

For going Kuza Gali or Changla Gali you have to leave this trek and ascend on short trails.

The trek is wide and some of its part is just jeepable.

Hardly you see people there. There are a few houses. A total wilderness. You can see Changla peak as one have to traverse changla ridge on this trek.

A must to do. approx 12 km.

If you alone, better to take guide from Ayubia. I took guide for Rs. 500/- from Ayubia Adda.

Just to tell you the start of the trek. The tank that stores fresh water from Mukshpuri Chasma, the water is supplied to Murree. English laid down this pipeline to Murree (Punjab) and Punjab province will provide wheat to Hazara (Galyat) in lieu of this water.

Go to Lorry Adda Ayubia.. While standing at Post office. Cross the road and ask for somebody to Khaira Gali/Kuza Gali trek. It will just descend the Ayubia Adda.

So the track starts from Ayubia Bazaar and ends up near Khaira Gali. After you have completed the track can you answer the following queries.

1) Although you hired a guide but do you think one can do it without a guide? or one could easily get astray and leave the main track?
2) Is it of the same width as is the Ayubia-Dunga Gali Pipe line track?
3) In how many hours did you complete the track?
4) Is the 12KM length from Ayubia-Khairagali or Dunga Gali-Khaira Gali?

1. Due wilderness and jungle, need guide if one is alone. If you are in group, guide is not needed. One can't astray. Just keep on the trek. Remember the trek don't asencd, don't descend.

2. Yes width is same. As it is continuation of that trek. The area where bridge is present in above pics. you have to cross the Kass (dry nala) on narrow trek.. but easy.

3. I completed in 3 hours

4. 12 Km is from Ayubia to Khaira Gali. Dunga Gali to Khaira Gali is 16 Km.

Local can also meet you on this trek. Some of the part is jeepable. as now even Sui Gas pipeline is also laid, as you can see a lot of pipes on the bridge.
