the 1200 is great for an economy car but don't expect it to have any sort of performance (on both petrol or CNG). I'd advise you to go for either a 1500 or 1600 engine with CNG for a great all round driver.

As far as costs go. you can buy and build a very good (original spec) beetle for around 1lack 70 to 1ack 80. I just restored a car for my wife (a 1500 Deluxe) for approx 1lack 80.

I must warn you that if you cath the VW "Bug" you'll end up spending alot more than that since there are so many parts you'll want to fit. My 1303S has a build budget of 4 lacks (for example).

I'm also planning on selling my 1500 at the moment (replacing it with a vitz soon) Demand is 1lack 70, and trust me it's worth every penny. Lemme know if you're interested.

Sadly alot of times PW mails end up in my junk mail and I never get a chance to read them (though i do check my junk mail).

You can fidn VW's for around 30-40000 easily but once you start building it it'll end up costing you just under 2lacks if you get all the work done right. However I recently broke down the prices with THE_KHUBAIB and we managed to squeeze the price down to the 1 lack 40's if you were to build with using alot of 2nd hand/ used parts.

both the charade conversion and beetle restoration will probably end up costing you the same amount of money, however the beetle will have alot more style once rebuilt.

that is less than what it cost me, and i urge you not to try to bee too smart, it isn't leaking oil, I'd just topped it up and spilled a little so it was a preventative method so as not to damage my driveway. every member in ISB knows my beetle doesn't leak oil, it's built properly.

Please refrain from posting on PW if you don't know what the hell you are talking about. This isn't a crappy suzuki, this is a fully restored 1500 Type 1 Deluxe, not like the garbage you see on the road which are owned by so called classic car collectors. I imported about 70% new parts (bumpers, fenders etc) for this car from brazil BRAND NEW!! People who know what i have know what it's worth,...
