I'm looking for 1.0 ton split A/c for my study room...currently i had russian brand window ac..it still works great, my dad actually purchased it back in 1992..only had following issues in 18 years
gas refilled four times
compressor changed once
regulator changed once
(so I wont be throwing my Russian 
lol)
but it is very noisy so i'm in search something quiet and noise-less for the study!
personally my experience with splits is very good with sanyo..i've SANYO 2.0 ton heatin/ coolin unit in my bedroom which is 25ft X 18ft in size with single story roof at 10 ft, and i've 2 ceiling fans. My room is on the north side and it get max exposure to sunlight during summers..It is my fourth consecutive year and i use my split as heater in winters as well...believe me i never had any issues with that split, cooling is superb (wat else you can expect from 2.0 ton ac???), cooling is hardly affected even if i leave the door of my room open..airflow is much more than 10ft (though we've Gree in my brother's room but it's airflow isn't dat great than of SANYO) personally i enjoy being chilled in a/c so I always keep the temp at 18-20 degrees.
So keeping above the facts i personally prefer SANYO, but i guess it is not available in 1.0 ton?? so i'd need something good for my study..price isn't issue but i need something which should not be serviced or changed every now and then...and of course should be noise-less to the max.
what do you say for Mr slim or LG in 1.0 ton?
