Best engine oil for Cultus (not efi) and how many litres?

use shell helix or zic 10w/40 or 15w/40.this viscosity is best for hydraulic lifters.
the oil quantity is 3.2 L to be exact with oil filter change.

i changed shell helix yellow 10w/40 i guess with filter changed but with 3litres

bhai agar ap cold area me rehte hai to 10-w40 agar average hot area hai to 15-w40. zyada hot hai to 20-40 ya 20-w50

@umar bhai, i asked ZIC person for engine oil and he said to use 20w50 as my car is driven 1 lac so he said to use it.

Mine is 120k driven.you can use 20w/50 oil but your engine must have t valve with auto radi fan.

my car fan is direct, how to check if "T" valve exists or not?

remove the top radiator pipe at the engine to check, For oil in that engine I prefer to use a thinner viscosity like 10W40 or 5W30, it moves quick to fill the lifters. However your engine has been running too cold for a long time, there would a lot of sticky oil residue in there.

Hot engine oils work to keep the engine clean as the toxic gases and water etc are steamed out and then sucked by the PCV into the intake.

I have cultus 2008efi. I wanted to use shell hilux. I m from Lahore and summers are approaching. Which viscosity should i go for?

Try Mobil Super 2000 10W-40......10W-40 being the recommended viscosity for newer (2008 onwards) cultus.

I m using ZIC 10-30, although milleage is 135K. no oil reduction issue.

i use zic x7 10w-40, API-SN in cultus 2004 is it OK because i recently check on user manual it says to use API-SG or SJ.

I recently switched to 10w40 SGP premium and I feel the tik tik noise on cold start is reduced a lot. Hopefully it will keep working well during summer too.

try any 10w30 or 5w30, then you will thank me. Carby cultus doesn't have flat tappets, so you can go for a 5w30 synthetic too

there is no harm in even going to a 5w20, if the manufacturer allows it in the manual.

Isn't synthetic low in zddp which is required by these old engines?
