It is easily available and your car will not take more than 03L in any case. I believe, you have 1KR-FE.

You can buy either 1L packs or 4L pack, and then manage accordingly (I would personally suggest 01L x 3 packs always. Rest, no problem with 4L pack too).

Then Totachi is there. You may check. Otherwise, you may go for Toyota Genuine 5w-30 engine oil, if none good option is available.

And by no means, 1KR-FE requires 3.5L engine oil. Please change your mechanic. He is pouring engine oil in excess, and it may prove dangerous for the engine and it's seals.

I do check dip stick weekly and the oil measures half cm uper than 2nd whole.

1KR-FE takes 3.6 L with oil filter if drain time is more than 30 minutes ot takes 3.2 L when drain time is less than 5 minutes.

New 1KR-FE takes 3.4 L with drain time of 30 M
And 3.1 L with quick drain.

Underfilling is the one of the reasons these engines detoriates faster than normal engines.

Isn't dip stick best to judge the level when oil level touch the top mark of dip stick ?

What about the oil filter gallery when we drain the oil and reinstall the oil filter the whole filter jacket is empty. At that point if you level according to the dip stick then you are underfilling it. Manual suggestion for oil change is suction procedure which is not done at 90% oil change shops. We always drain it from chamber drain procedure so follow the service manual not the owner manual. Owner manual is for customers and are only refference values all vehicles in jdm region visits workshops who do had workshop service manuals with them and fill accordingly.

On pages 351 & 432 of 631, the oil capacities with filter change, without filter change and dry fill are 3.1L, 2.9L and 3.4L respectively (and by dry fill, it means when the engine is just brand new or recently overhauled and no engine oil has been poured in to it yet). I could not find 3.6L engine oil figure in it, neither 30 minutes time or 5 minutes time, or suction procedure in the manual (please let me know, if I miss something there).

In latest 1KR-FE, it takes 2.8L with filter change, and 2.6L without filter change, in Vitz (I have posted the page picture from the manual, in one of my above posts). In latest 1KR-FE in Passo / Boon, it takes 3.1L with filter change, and 2.9L without filter change (I have mentioned it in one of the other threads, with picture from the manual).

Suction procedure for removing engine oil or drain of engine oil via chamber nut, both have their Pros & Cons (you can Google for more details), however, some garages have prefered old school method of drain of engine oil via nut (gravity and drain / flow of oil are in the same direction, so they favor each other and chances of particles staying in the chamber are less).

Bro, if you have latest 1KR-FE, then in Vitz, it will be 2.8L with filter change and for Passo / Boon, it will be 3.1L with filter change.

Regarding manuals, I hardly think owners / users manuals and service manuals will ever conflict with each other. It does not seem logical to me and possible that in owners / users manual, the oil change capacity with filter change is 2.8L and in service manual, it is 3.4L.

100% agreed and I personally believe, YES! (otherwise, dipstick will seem useless and meaningless, if it can not depict exact oil level in engine)

I personally believe that the best method to measure exact engine oil level (based on its capacity) in the engine is; when car has been parked on a perfectly flat surface for a sufficient time and engine has not been used for a considerable time, and is cold. In easy words, you park your car on a horizontal surface at night, and in the morning when you are about to leave, do not start the engine. Just open the bonnet, take out the dipistick and check engine oil level.

If you poured 2.8L, or let's say a full 3L ZIC A+ 5w-20 bottle in your Vitz, with latest 1KR-FE, and it touches the max. / highest mark on the dipstick; rest assured your engine is perfectly safe and fine (and is not underfilled at all! How can it be if it touches the max. mark? Can it be? I think, not).

However, if you pour 3.4-3.6L engine oil, then it may touch the max. / highest mark, may even cross it, but overfilling? One can think himself.

My cars dips stick measure oil little uper than highest mark....like half cm or maybe 1 cm..is it normal?

No the level should be between Low - High.

Pls get the extra removed, as it will damage the oil seals.

Well... I won't consider it as normal, if oil level is above the highest mark on dipstick. To me, it seems that engine oil has been overfilled.

Btw, how much quantity of oil are you pouring in your engine?

No the level should be between Low - High.

I think, not correct always. If oil just touches the bottom mark, you are still safe, but its a warning to take care of engine oil and fill it if it drops any further (still better to fill it / top up immediately). If its below the lowest mark, its quite dangerous and one should immediately top it up, up to a decent level (may be max. mark, but not more than that).

Between max. & min. points, No problem, and your car's engine is absolutely safe!

Even if it touches the max. mark, no problem. You are safe. However, above the max. mark, its again dangerous and a sign that you have overfilled and extra oil poured needs to be removed ASAP.

In the above said mentioned manual there is no recomendation of viscosity to filling ratio.

Rebuilding the 1kr and refilling after ward takes almost 4.1 L quantity try it some time 3.4 even doesnt touch the center mark of dip stick give it a try.

1cm above the high mark is normal for 1KR-FE it doesnt blow the oil seals at all .......
