Day 06 Cntd....

Abdullah Hyder, our cook + guide, who had got married recently (a month ago) was trying to get his act of bravery captured for a later show off to his better half

Sorry for smoking... but the experience was out of this world
and interestingly this was enhancing lungs activity and performance (not that i am encouraging smoking!).

In such places sights are totally misleading to estimate distance and time. Milestones that look just around the corner may take 2 hours or more sometimes. I think most of the guys in this forum are aware of this frustration J we too had to wait to reach the final point where we could see the lake view in full. But the fact was after 3-4 hours we were actually traveling over the snow lake and this was unbelievable. Every now and then I would look around to make sure yes, its Snow lake… yes we are at Snow lake.
Just before our long stop over, the flag was taken out and we started taking pictures with beautiful green flag.

“In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.”
John Muir
This is so true for what we were witnessing.

On our left..

We experienced more and more soft snow as we moved further. And the walking got terrible. Besides this, breathing became almost impossible though we were not at maximum height and soon it started snowing.

All these factors were testing out patience and stamina to its max. I remember just before reaching the lake I was counting my footsteps for next break. First it was 200 continuous steps, then I had to call for break at 130 something, and later I couldn’t walk more than 100 feet.
Our next one hour can be summed up in a formula = Random (walk, rest, stop, stand still, drag, push, breath, counting footsteps)
Behaali aur Bebasi... @ snowlake

And then that was it. We actually saw Snow lake in its full bloom.
Caution: View has tendency to cause heart failure for nature lovers, so please be aware of it
On a serious note though, it may cause snow blindness... use of polarized glasses is a must.

And this is where Our kitchen tent was set up finally along her majesty, the Snow lake.
