Since I sold my Camry, that same day I got a chance to lay my hands on this blakky. Alhamdullilah!

I wonder how come it drives sweet after all these years...

Interior is pretty clean for its age.. except that it shows the inherent problem of Toyota/Lexus sticky dashboard..

The car was used by a lady and, the way ladies drive. Mechanically perfect since they can't afford to get stranded on road but complete neglect towards the car in other cases. The interior had a years' supply of makeup stuff, beads, clips, ponies and some strange stuff I couldn't define from its shape and content.

Exterior was also a relic to start with. scratches everywhere, dings and dents in places you won't have imagine.. and it seems the car was never washed even...

To start with, the whole paint was a mess. Here is an example of how it looked in general..

After some cut and polish, the fender showed signs of hope... rejuvenation started for whole car resulting in earlier pictures..

Both front lights were foggy. I replenished them with my secret formula but found out that the right one has been damaged from inside due to a faulty lamp.

Beautiful Lexus, both of them, do post some interior pics in the day time. Every time I have driven a decently looked after Lexus, even the 90s LS400 it never ceases to amaze me how good they still feel and drive despite their age.

This is the one I had, 2.4ltr 4cyl. A basic model but upgraded overtime to Grande.

Never talk about price, specially used car market ... but I can tell you one thing, due to neglect on this Lexus by previous owner, I saved $250 after selling Camry and buying this... so a good deal for me..

D.I.Y: Miscellaneous Upgrades (Camry ACV40)

Did a small DIY at home with a couple of cans of paint, kitchen drawer liner and some patience... the colors you might need are Graphite Metallic and gloss Black After after [image] [image] Before and after... [image] [image] 1 - Remove Dash Parts 2 - Disassemble To the Last Bit 3 - Wash It With Degreaser / Soap 4 - Let It Dry 5 - Use Alcohol Pads to clean it again to be sure no grease/oil is left 6 - Paint it Graphite Metallic and let it dry for a couple of hours 7 - Cover it…

We also have these lexus in canada but camry is preferred over lexus because of spare availability and less cost of maintenance. Btw how much is this lexus driven?

Was just shy of 200k when bought but I passed it over... but never bothered with mileage since these lasts quite long... and btw, parts are same as toyota (except body/lights etc), so not bothered too and is as cheap as toyota too...

Okay great but thats not the case here in canada lexus is expensive than toyota, acura expensive than honda and infinity also expensive than nissan.

We have a tradition/culture of wreckers here, so not an issue. Let me give you an example. I cleaned the throttle body the day I bought the car and also tried to clean the MAF sensor too. During the DIY, I was "able" to break the small filament inside the MAF. Called Toyota/Lexus, got quote of AU$260. I went to wreckers and got one for AU$70 including installation.
