yes m on dialysis and HB is one of the major problem for dialysis patients, actually there is a thing(dont remember the medical name) made by kidneys, that is a kind of fuel for liver to work and produce blood. When kidneys get damage it is not produce and hence liver stops producing blood. To counter this, it is given to the body artificially in form of injections. These injections are very important for blood level of dialysis patients, which should be given regularly to the patients.
There are many brands of these injections like Epokine, Espojin, or Recormon from different companies. And effectiveness of every brand vary than other. I found Recrmon and Epokine best in this regard. Use Recormon 5000(or Epokine 4000) doze on every dialysis(twice a week) and u ll se the improvement in the HB after a month or so, also consult ur nephrologist about if ur father needs iron(venofer) or not, if yes then use venofer once a week, some time body needs iron so these injection like Recormon or Epokine are not effective, venofer is solution then.
I get Recormon 5000 in RS 2000 from Islamabad, share me its price in Kharachi.
Thses injections should be used regularly and if not blood level will fall, i had my HB up to 10.2 but skipping a few injections level fell to 6.9:(, So take this into account. As HB gets to an appropriate(above 12 or 13) level then doze and frequency of injections can be reduced.
Always inject this recormon or epokine in the muscle, if u inject it in the vain, its efficiency will drop. Venofer is for vain should be given after dialysis through same access of dialysis.
Hopefully this gives u some logical answer to the question.
