Bolt in Cold air intake for city 2010

I have city 2010 I have got a cold air intake from my friend and want to install it in my car I need to know few questions
1. How to clean / wash the mashroom air filter so that I can install it in my car
2. Does cold air intake improves the fuel economy of the car along with the performance
3, can this intake me fitted in city 2010

And yeah it does have a place for air sensor on the other side of the arm

it will increase ur economy on normal revs & wil give u a slight gain in performance as well
few pre cautions
1.keep it away from heat,theres no point of a cold air intake kit if it isnt sucking in cold air
2.clean it every month,u can use surf n water,let it stay in surf water for 10 mins and then take it out n clean it with a tooth brush,make sure it dryes 100% before u put it back in
3. make sure no water enters the engine

Better go for New Foam type filter on City or carbon charger.Dont wash it with surf try to use liquid typo soap detergant though if its new no need to wash it B4 inital 5000kms just keep on blowing Air after 3 400kms

Better go for new filter as this will only reduce power Dani123 @pw faced same.Go for Foam based filter.Original K&N or simota carbon charger.Actualy these kits are for Civic Reborn so flowrate dosent match

take out the foam soak it in cold water let it dry and put it back!

no a cold air intake does not increase fuel economy - it decreases fuel economy no matter what although a short ram air intake might give you better mileage because of the air temprature that the IAT compensates!but this is how things go in the car world *POWER AND ECONOMY DONT GO TOGETHER

I won't completely agree to this, I've experienced otherwise in all of my cars that have or had a CAI installed. My civic gives me around 2-3km/l more upon calm driving than it used to give me before the CAI was installed

here is the thing i dont know what car do you drive but if you drive a car that is efi and has a IAT sensor then what the IAT does is when it sees COLD AIR it richens the fuel and when it sees HOT AIR it leans up the fuel i dont know how and why does your IAT sensor acts the other way
THE POSSIBILITIES:
[I]you might be living in a place that is 50 above all the year 365days
when you instal such gimmicky parts in your car that guarantees POWER+ECONOMY - while driving you usually drive with a light foot *(LIGHTER THAN USUAL) because you keep this in mind that you shouldn't &over rev the car so that it will act neutral both ways
it might be as it was before - my car is bone stock and mileage always &varies *WTF!?
* most probably you might be having the so-called cold air intake like &mostly people here have:D cold air intake just besides the exhaust *manifold:D

most probably the air filters you were using in your car were bad or the air silencer in the air filter system was leaking hence creating turbulence in the air path.

air intakes of ANY kind do not i repeat DO NOT improve fuel economy. less restriction = more air = more fuel needed to burn = LESS ECONOMY... and no1 get funny ideas to tamper with the air fuel mixture otherwise ur engines will over heat and seize up...
after market intakes are of 2 types, oil and oil free. both run forever. the only difference is that after washing the oil type ones, u need to re oil them (using filter oil which im not sure u get in pak).
and yes any filter can go into any car, u just need to have the right pipes. u want my advice, dont install it. but if u must, just install it without messing about too much.

If flowrate doesn't match with city then what's the point in getting a more expensive performance intensive simota carbon charger ?

Btw how is carbon charger diff from ordinary cold air intake?

I misread the IAT sensor part, my bad, guilty as usual
My ECU is tuned accordingly so that plays a big part here, and yes it's an EFi of course.

and no my current car doesn't have the 'so called cold air intake' that most people have here, it's a Simota and it goes down to the bumper vent

My civic however has the Simota Aeroform Air Intake, still there's increase in economy, but again, the ecu programming hits in here. Here's a picture of it from my build thread:

The filter was a brand new K&N with a Simota assembly, but the car's ecu was programmed due to the upgrades, which were useless without a tune.

And yeah it does have a place for air sensor on the other side of the arm

The one posted in the picture is not a CAI if that's an original picture, it's more of a short ram.

there is a big problem in this air filter piping setup it does not have a plenum anywhere, the plenum is provided for the air to "accordion' in it when the throttle blade closes. It is done considering the mass of air as it requires some time to move and similarly some time (and space) to stop.
