check this out. this shows electrolux pakistan's range. i bought three aircons from electrolux. two were italy assembled and one was pakistani assembled (now factory is operational in pak). i found them to have equally good performance.

Thats more as compared to the Mitsu Mr. Slim that operated at around 7.2 amperes.

Saad - Is voltage stable at your home at 200+ volts? This might also be the cause for higher ampere consumption

Zank: I think the voltage in peak season in Lahore varies from 195 - 215V especially in June and July. Is the cooling capacity of an AC affected by the lower voltage?

I just came across this thread and found it to be really useful. Actually I also bought the same MHI SRC20CEVK AC last summer i.e. in 2010 for Rs.53,000 in Lahore. My cousin bought a Mr.Slim Advance 1.5 tons in the same season. I found its performance to be quite superior than my MHI. actually it also depends on what is the room size and is the room on ground floor or first floor. Can I know the dimensions of the room in which YOU installed your AC. My room's size is 17feet X 11feet and height is also about 11.5 feet. Also my room is on first floor and sun light comes on one of its walls and roof. I checked the POWER CONSUMPTION through an ampere meter and it was around 8.5 Ampere in the running condition. Actually you would have noticed that there are many modes i.e. High Power, Econo mode etc. and I think the three different ampere ratings are due to that.
I also wanted to know that did you get the AC installed from the company person and did you pay the 3000 or say installation charges or less? I actually got it installed from a local electrician and was wondering whether this is the cause of the not so good performance of the AC?

Other then peak times the AC would run in economy mode almost 75% of the time. Now having shifted to another house I have it installed in the living room on ground floor with size 18 X16. Lets see what happens this summer.
Got it installed from a local tech with good experiance about mitsubishi. He however did tell me that size of tubing for this brand is different as compared to the local / other AC. You may like to check this aspect.
Having good exp with this one I also bought a 1.1 Ton of MHI just before budget last year. Its still packed and will have it shortly installed. I hv decided to stick to this brand inspite of the fact that previously I had 4 haier 1.5 ton ACs with two of them being reversable and an LG.

Am sorry, I have never dont anysuch calculations. I get the bill and just get it paid, at times I even dont bother to check how mush it is. Afterall we earn for own comfort, dont we, so why bother.

anyone has any idea what is current price of full size 1.5 ton mitsu a/c? i have one installed in living room and it doesnt even matter if a window or door is ajar. the cooling is very good. now i am planning to replace my room a/c which is waves 1.5 ton and is about 5 years old, with mitsu but i heard that now prices are very high for it.

that is true, i am running a/c on separate meter and bill is considerably less.

Can anybody who has had experience with both models of Mitsubishi Electric Mr.Slim i.e. Advance and Extreme (1.5 ton) share his/her experiences?
The newer one i.e. Mr.Slim Xtreme (whose Ad. is normally on for the last 4 or so years) is smaller in size as compared to Mr.Slim Advance (which is almost the same size as the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries split shown in this forum by Mr.Panther).
Which one is better in terms of Cost and Performance?
Last year Mr.Slim Xtreme was for RS.51,000 in Lahore and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries was for Rs.53,000....

Salamz, I came across this thread today after trying to search for reviews and/or people's experiences with mitsubishi and other aircon's - I am looking to purchase two new 1.5T a/c's asap, and from what I found out so far the best ones are Mitsubishi and Panasonic (according to the dealer, the Mitsu's Mr Slim is assembled by Orient in PK and MHI is assembled in Thailand, the Panasonic is assembled in Malaysia). I'm looking for reliability and great cooling, so not really worried about price. I previously had an LG plasma gold 1.5T and that lasted for a long time, finally dying recently. The prices they gave me are 55k for the MHI and 58k for the Pana. Any suggestions or opinions? (FYI, the only inverter based air con i found was a panasonic but its for 80k and more importantly its not covered by panasonic warranty as its supposed to be 'baggage ka maal' so am discounting that as an option)

Just found out that this Mitsubishi Heavy Industry (the box resembles the pictures above and said made in Thailand) model is available in Rawalpindi for 56K (1.5t) and 42k (1.0t) against Mitsubishi Electric Mr Slims for 53k (1.5t) and 41k (1.0t)... Original installation kit for 4000 and installation charges 1000.
I have seen that some of posters know a lot about ACs... my question is this : 1) since the difference is only 3k... why not get the slim which is well known in the market... and 2) would the difference in electricity bill be huge ?

i bought this A.C in 1.5 ton in april 2011 in 57000 rupees. from then its working very fine my room is in upper floor so i had to bought 1.5 ton. i keep it on 28 and m very much satisfied with it. the best thing i experienced about it is its throw. even on low its range is wide. dont know about electricity consumption but on a.c it is written that it takes 7.5a which is comparatively very less. over all i m very satisfied till date.
