if the car gives a black smoke cloud when pressed hard, then its surely the nozzles which need servicing. If you were in Lahore i could guide you to a very sensible guy who does this pump servicing and nozzles etc....

It could also be a blocked intercooler or gunked EGR.. nozzles require servicing if the engine sounds like a tractor and is generally low on power. The black smoke is usually badly choked air filter/intercooler/valve clearance adjustments.

I also have one, a Pajero 2.8 turbo Exceed, 96 reconditioned 2002. dude it is heavy on fuel. I did get the nozzles etc done once, but the mileage doesnt go above 7 per liter. Also according to the "diesel Lab Expert" in Pirwidhai :), this Engine cant give more than 8Km per liter, in the city, especially if its auto transmission.

But it sure is a pleasure to drive.

infact it has many extra feature tht i gonna miss if i had a prado tx
but one thing thts missing is airbags
anywayz i love this jeep its very comfortable to drive n hve luxury features

I'm taking my Pajero for a fuel pump service soon, let me know if you want to come along or if you find a good place to get it done from,
I intend to have my injectors replaced and the pump serviced / repaired, calibrated whatever needs to be done. The guy I am going to was recommended by a good friend and apparently he's honest and will tell the customer what does or does not need to be done rather than fleece the customer and send him home in his chaddis.
