Hi all
I have installed MK kashiyama ( blue packing ) brake pads both front and rear couple of days ago
.
Brake pads costed me 5800 pkr and as per my mechanic and shop keeper these are japanese one
Also there is a sticker on packing claiming made in japan
But on my second drive after installation (first drive was relatively very short one) i felt there were two different sounds coming from the car when applying breaks ... a kaar kaar sound from front which is not there when brakes are cold then only audible if you hear closely and then becomes easily audible if there is no music on and a gaar loud sound from rear ...soemtimes from rear left and sometime from rear right ... this sound is similar to if rub against your fingers or sneakers against clean dry glass
The front sound is consistent while rear one comes only at certain speeds (no its not ABS)
So i took the car to mechanic and he told me that the noise is coming because rotors arnt machined ..so i got angry and asked him why he didnt machined the rotors then while installing brake pads ...to which he said that the sounds will disappear on its own as the brake pads are new and still bedding in with old rotors ...which requires some time for adjusting with old system ..
He also said that the old rotors have lines on them as the old brake pads were desi and caused lines on rotor on the other hand brake pads have new flat surface so they need some time to get adapted to
He also went for test drive and did hard braking 3-4 times claiming this will help in resolving the issue...and the sounds will be gone after almost 4-5 days of driving
Backgroung of brake pads change was that the old one were making loud whistling sound when brakes were applied
Please do suggest me what to do and is my mechanic right ?
