i am not sure if it was pkdm or what, but the discs were vented and i did not see any alteration at the hubs
what has suspension got to do with brake calipers?
Yes no alterations needed at hub but clippers may require little alteration.
Where they are going to be mounted? By suspension I don't only mean shocks, i mean control arms as well.
correction: those calipers were fro a japanese swift (same cultus shaped one) and were bolton
Great. I hope those are easily available in Lahore scrap market.
I am also interested in this upgrade. If you are in the mood, i can go look for them and get them installed at osama's
I am interested. Let me know the cost of whole upgrade. Please
i will search around when i go to bilal gunj..
Thanks. I appreciate
Control arms??
The caliper and pad carrier bolt to the piece that houses the wheel bearing. Its called many names some of which are.
SpindleKnuckleUprightSwivel bearing
Yes sir and they are bolted on arms. He was talking about old swift. And i was thinking about new one.
interesting..
so how exactly would the control arms be a concern, even if i used new calipers, or maybe if i went nuts and used corolla ones???
hmm - how about the brake calipers from a railcar
that is strike 1 mate, wake up. clippers bolted on arms ? seems you are mixing up with parts anatomy of an automobile.
and connected to Sturt in a modern day hatch / sedans
Yes. But double wishbone MacPherson strut are different things. You can see ball joints are on which hubs fit in MacPherson. Corolla has ball joint bolted to control arm with 2 nuts and on bolt. Hub sits in ball joint. And which contain brakes stuff. I have swapped ae101 with ae80. Looks bolt on but it isn't.
either way, you are only going to alter the hub not the struts or control arms
