Canon 5d Mark III with 24-70 f2.8 Mark II addition to my collection of cameras

I use a 1ds mark III and a 5d Mark II already so decided to up the game a little bit with 5d Mark III and 24-70 f2.8 Mark II and i can easily say that 5d Mark III has come a long way from 5d Mark II it is quick accurate and snappy. A must have

An ultrasonic lens is a lens with a silent focus motor which does not make any noise when coming in focus and is much quicker

how do you compare your SLR with 6D?

6d is a cheap camera its a jumped up canon 60d with a full frame sensor and a focusing system which is that from a Rebel series camera. its not worth the money. I would recommend a canon 5d Mark II instead of a 6d... 5d mark III has a 61 point autofocus which i find very handy and specially when attached with this new 24-70 the edge to edge focusing speed and sharpness is beyond imagination..... I compared this to my 1ds Mark III and on focusing speed and accuracy 5d Mark III is on same level to 1 series cameras.... where as 6d is on the Rebel level or 60d level

Thanks yeah its a good camera and since i am a canon user from a long time i find it much easier to use..... Nikon D800 is a fantastic camera and better in terms of dynamic range when compared to 5d mark III But the over all picture quality of 5d III is much better as it does not have any colour cast on it and you need less post processing .. Focusing speed as compared to D800 is phenomenal where as we are all aware that Nikon has always provided a better focusing system as compared to canon... Iv been using a 5d II and a 1ds Mark III and 5d Mark III has come a long way as compared to 5d II and has placed it self on top of 1ds Mark III ......... BUT BUT BUT and its a very big problem.... You need a lens like 24-70 Mark II to take full advantage as there is no point using this camera with a cheaper lens.

Guys kindly suggest me a camera,i have been using the digital camera,bit at times when i need to take click photes quickly i miss to have ap professioanl camera but as i never had used one so i cannot decide which specific model to buy i have visited the stores several times but ends up deciding ntohing, and i don't wanna buy a professional camera whom i would regret buying,

congrats on the camera , i had this combo b4 then i shifted to Fujifilm pro x1 . now again to 5d mark III.
I Shoot nikon also. altho the images are much superior with the nikon d800 combo with 5d mark III is a better overall package

Thanks ....... m not a Nikon shooter but yeah Nikon has a lot of punch in its picture i wanted a second body with my 1ds Mark III and this was a better option as compared to other cameras in the range

I have heard some good things about the canon 6d also in terms of IQ but yes the auto focus of the mk III is the plus point. I was never a fan of the 1D series ... Until the 1D X came out :D...

with 1 series its not about the image quality its the build quality and the shutter system reliability . 1ds mark III on terms of image quality is a bit lower then 5d III but in terms of reliability it still beats every thing .. you cannot use cameras like 6d on a professional basis they are more of an enthusiast cameras.. last thing you want in a professional shoot is a camera struggling to lock focus.... 1dx is a legend no doubt and is a 5d Mark III in a tank shell with the reliability of an Audi...

yup thats why i use my nikon D3s for weddings. its perfect but alot of pro i know are still using 5d mark II for their needs and still are able to lock it using the middle point focus.. but yes i agree if u shooting sports, then u do need something like the 5D mark III.
anyway, i use both the systems so i dont really support any one of them... i love the canon Lens specially my 85mm f1.2L BUT i dont think any canon body comes even close to replace my nikon D3s.

But since iv seen the D4 and its low light capability i think Nikon has come a long way since D3s as canon has come a long way since 5DII and from 1ds Mark III to 1d X ......... I am not a big fan of these Mega Pixil Monsters like D800 and D600 as they are no where near the predecessor the D700... and not to talk about their Buffer speed once picture taken by a D800 kills the memory card straight away and if you are taking back to back images there are lot of times that you miss shots ... that is why hardly any pros Use the D800 Nikon users in the pro line mostly have moved to d4 because of its low megapixils, buffer speed and low noise performance.... but it all depends on environment you shoot in and in the time of today its neither Canon system or Nikon system its more to do with the photographer a lot of guys we know are taking killer pictures with rebel series that blow socks of the pros......... Using two systems is a bad idea i never recommend that to any one it effects the consistence in results its like using two different pair of shoes for running the marathon which is always a bad idea.

Yes the 5d III is not a sports camera due to its lower FPS but its focus system has been derived from the 1Dx so there is no doubt that it can be used for sports.
You have mistaken between the D3 and the D3s ... the D3s is in a different league altogether but like u said different situations need different cameras and for me the D3s is the low ISO king. 25,000 iOS low light wedding reception no problem at all. And D800 for portraits OMG the details it's captures and the ability to retain shadows is amazing!
But in my daily use, I use my 5D mark III as it feels the best in my hands

btw, although the cannon 24-70 is a very sharp and accurate lens but I'd have prefered Tamron...
