What has cvt to do with ac compressor?

Not an issue of transmission though.
Cvt keeps rpms low all the time, and when sensor type compressor is problematic you will face no/less cooling on low rpms.

I guess its due to the use of variable speed compressor in Corolla that just keeps running even when you switch off AC, compressor keeps running and ultimately it fails earlier than those with clutch and traditional tech. Those traditional compressors also put more load on engine compared to these new compressors that put almost no load on engine.
This is the reason in new Rollas you get almost same average per litre with or without air conditioner.

Yes. It has variable angle swash plate that adjusts its angle and increase or decrease piston stroke. When you switch off AC the plate inclination goes to minimum thus least stroke is produced.
This plate angle is controlled by a solenoid.

Such compressors can go bad earlier because they just keep running even if AC is not in use.

I have repaired a lot of such “youtube video” cars here, mostly its the owner being diy youtube genius and charging it with “gess” because they think the “gess” expires or something.

A recovery, purge, vacuum and recharge restores 100% performance. Speaking of mechanics in UAE and KSA, they are at equal ranks of paan/menpoori/gutka ustaad of Pakistan. Seen it there myself!

This issue not unique to this corolla either, a lot of new cars have this compressor, some even have clutch with this pwm solenoid (Ford), the first iteration of this compressor were in early 2000s, so its not new tech either)

The oil type and quantity is also a critical point in this compressor working, too heavy of an oil will cause stalling.

If the cabin temperature is too high the compressor will “disable itself” as the liquid pressure gets out of control when first started, however if you vent the cabin before getting in and starting the ac it will always work 100%

Or you can wait for the cabin to cool itself down then restart the ac and it will kick on.

Well mine was actually blown up. when I was driving like a maniac for more then 30kms, so I thought clutch one is more robust and chilly like arctic. Well it's giving way more cooling then my car at day one.
New condensor and refrigerant is 100% original honeywell. I really wanted to go for linde though.

If it comforts you, I dont use honeywell refrigerant, I buy whatever is cheapest for sale at my vendor when I need it.

3rd gen vitz has got similar compressor and it puts almost no load on engine. Few days back i felt cooling was low than normal as it was making a swooshing sound on ac start which in my opinion was low refrigerant. I took it to toyota dealership n they have got an automatic machine which perform this recovery n charging with click of button BUT foreman got desi mechanic mentality. He said needle is trembling soi kamp rehi hai (low pressure was at 50) he said it means ur compressor is weak and if additional gas ll be charged it ll stop working all together.
I showd him sticker on bonnet which says 360 gm. I get it translated for him (see attached) n asked him to perform recovery then charge 360 gm by weight. He said my compressor will go bad on full refrigerant aur rahi sahi cooling bhi khtam hojaygi. He quoted instances where it happened to them. He said garmi khtam hai n get it done next season start. so i came back.

I want to know soye ka kampna ka compressor weak hone se ki talaq hai? Will incomplete gas volume help a weak compressor n complete volume will make it overload thus it ll trip continuously as mechanic claimed. Pl guide

If you find the new Corolla AC compressor expensive tell your AC technitian to swap it with 2002-2008 Corolla AC compressor its cheaper made for 2NZ only puts a little extra load compared to the orignal one that comes factory fitted in 2015 Corolla.

If liquid was only 50 psi im expecting the low side would be 15 or 20 or less, meaning severely undercharged, it would be having almost no cooling, it would be humid air like air blowing over some cubes of ice.

The flutter you see is the expansion valve trying to control the refrigerant flow, instead of smoothly working and gently cotrolling the liquid refrigerant its going to full open and then closing suddenly which causes a sudden rise in pressure which is shown as flutter.

Find a tech who is not stuck in dumbass land and actually wants to work by using his brains.

Honeywell... Hmm more like a shashka. Those chinese refrigerants are equally good and cheaper too. Believe me most AC technicians are doing fraud. They just carry Honeywell cylinder that was refilled with some Chinese gas. They would charge you double by telling you its US gas but actually its a Chinese refrigerant that they are selling you.

few days back, i check and that 2002-2008 corolla compressor was costing 27k in Lahore...
Toyota Duet compressor is of exactly same spec, and costs around 11k

Terious Kid Comrpessior Cost 9 to 10 K
Toyota Compressors are Costly I mean the Denso ones i guess which comes JENYAN in corollas
Honeywell Original USA r134A Cylinder cost 19500 1 Number.

Chinese Gasses are Cheap and usually Shopkeppers install Chinese one !

Before i was using Terious Compressor, they are working great in my Charade and other Corolla , just mistkanely instlaled in this another car for Honda life, its good but in very hot Climate it was not working very good so using it till it dies and will install the Terious one back again in this car.
