Earlier this week, I went to @Newton aka Farrukh
place to meet him first time and took along my recently purchased DA (Porter Cable 7424). We had a short time available to us because of the electricity outages. He had already washed the car when I reached there and then we got started with the swirl removal. The car was actually in a very good condition and swirls being only visible up close (possibly more at night time with other car's lights etc) but wasn't much during the daytime. The car had been wearing Dodo Purple Haze (applied to it a month ago) and was actually looking good. It was actually pretty frickin cold that day (and still is) and we only had a 2-3 hour window before it would get dark again and power outage. So we only did the car's horizontal surfaces for swirl removal.
Products used:
Lemon wax (to strip protection, although we didn't really need to). Car was also clayed last month, so the finger pass was good enough.
Porter Cable 7424 with Lake Country Orange CCS 5.5 pad
Meguiars Ultimate Compound
Meguiars supreme shine MF towel
Turtle synthetic QD
Procedure:
The LC orange pad was first sprayed a couple of times with the detailer and then Meguiars Ultimate compound was applied to it and spread with fingers (called as pad priming). Once the pad was primed, 4-5 pea sized drops were applied and 2x2 sections were targetted. The first pass was quick at speed6 for the product to spread, then approx 4 section passes were done with slight pressure applied and then 2 additional passes done with speed 4 and almost no pressure (just DA's weight). The residue was cleaned with the MF towel.
We kept on inspecting the done area with the use of mobile phone's led light. We didn't take much pictures, but here are the couple of before and after results of the same area:

AFTER (almost sunset time):

It was a time well spend with Farrukh with some good discussions on several things.
More over, it was the first time I was on a DA and I think we finished satisfied. As the weather settles a bit, we will hopefully do the vertical surfaces + finish polish + seal/wax.
Comments and feedback is welcomed.
