As far as my opinion goes.......Im in the same game as they are, an I do have regular work that I do professionally and charge for as well........I dont want any controversies an disputes unfolding here........like shazo has said its been discussed here so read up the thread completely an youll find it.....JazakAllah!!

Not that I want to take anyone's business but I had it done on my car a couple of years back and atleast I am not a satisfied customer...

The wet look disappeared after a few days and the car was a major dust magnet. I kept that car for quite some time and till the last day I cursed the paint and toyota Japan for applying such a thin coat...the car would collect scratches even if sneezed on...(and imagine I had bought the damn car because of the wine red color)...it is only now that i have realized that those guys took off layers and layers of my paint with incorrect use of rotaries which caused me so much headache for the next few years.

JazakAllah for liking the thread, as for your query.......The topic of dust attraction to car paint comes up often and the usual trend of the thread is to find quick cures......Now to understand dust attraction, go to the core of the prob...... the resin used to make clear coat paints in and of itself has a high static charge. That's not a charge that's on the paint, that's a static charge that's in the paint. So it's pretty hard to change the charge of your car's finish without removing the paint, which defeats the purpose of polishing and waxing your car to make it look great...........Second, even if you could create a resin with a neutral charge, the dust, dirt and air-borne contaminant in the air, that fall and land on your precious baby have their own electrical or static charge and you and I cannot do anything to remove all the static electrical charge out of all the dust in the air in the world, or at least the part of the world that you drive and park your car.......Even yet part of the problem is that static electricity is created by the act of you rubbing your hand over the finish with a clean, dry microfiber polishing cloth. This wiping action creates and imparts a static charge that attracts dust...........Since common sense tells you that after applying a wax or paint sealant you need to wipe it off using some kind of toweling, it's a given that some level of static electricity is going to be created to the finish by --> you <-- and there's nothing you can do about it except for not wax your car..........Not waxing your car is not a solution because a coating of wax or a paint sealant does two primary things......The primary purpose of a car wax or synthetic paint sealant is to act as a sacrificial barrier coating over the surface of your car’s paint...An application of a quality car wax or paint sealant makes the paint look good.Not waxing your car just to avoid dust attraction is not a real world solution because most of us want to protect our car's paint so that it will last over the service life of the car and of course make the paint look good..........So realistically speaking, you have to wash and wax your car regularly or your car's paint will deteriorate due to neglect and exposure to the environment plus wear-n-tear......coming to solutions, Water acts as a natural static electricity neutralizer. Wiping your car's highly polished paint with water is an anathema to most of us as we would never do anything that would increase the potential to inflict swirls or scratches into the paint......Spray Detailers to the resuce.....Spray Detailers are mostly water plus ingredients that provide lubrication, gloss, slickness, shine and in some cases, protection.So while you and I would never wipe our car down with a water soaked wet rag, we will gently and carefully wipe our car's finish down with a quality spray detailer and this will help to remove static electricity as well as make the paint look great! My apologies for the lonnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggg boring lecture.......but I`m of the idea that you guys need to step up your game more.....its been a good few months this thread is in motion........I think all necessary knowledge has been put in for newbies an experts alike.......lets get into the pro leagues now....whos game ?????

Yes theyll be effective.........no worries on that....good detailer sprays that you can buy here in Pakistan are the Turtle Platinum Series Detailer Spray, Megs Detailer Spray.....an the recently introduced Armour All one tested by Accord7362 an Mistero.....both whose capabilities I do not doubt......so without a thought....PHAR LOOO!!!!!

I read his comments...totally agree with him...I wish I knew a little about detailing back then...apna wine red paint bacha layta mein...never went or even thought about going there back again with any of my later purchases...

@all the pro detailers.... Please lt me know if there is any way to restore a car's original paint shine... if not 100% then 75% may be... the car in question is a City 2004, gun mettallic.. it seems as if it has lost its shine to some extent...

Give it a good machine polish, use Megs Deep Crystal, then glaze it Turtle Waxs Hyper Polymer Glaze an last give it a gooood quality wax, ......hopefully you`ll be rollin in bling !!!

Dusty day...found out that Mr. D had not wiped the car in the morning...hmm double checked, found the Mf in the boot completely dry and in the same position as I had left it yesterday. No way was I gonna drive to work in a dusty car...was taking the MF to dampen when I got an evil idea...why not use the detailer again!!!

Merging Amir and Usman's advice, I sprayed some detailer on the MF and went swipe swipe...wet side...clean dust...turn side...glide to shine...stroke by stroke...panel by panel...and finally didn't take me more than 15 minutes...and voila bling bling was back baby!!!

Best of all, it didn't take more than ten light sprays (both on the MF and the car)

Lessons learn't
a. Get the dust off the windows and glass first
b. Do not forget to do the insides of the doors (forgot them in the detailing session)
c. Even MF can leave webbing and top surface scratches if rubbed too hard (and again and again)

oh btw...the Goth Mobile got a brand new left earring today...was expecting swarovski crystals studded in the indicator for the price Honda charged me but thoroughly disappointed it was plain old Plastic...and btw for the record...these Honda guys do not know how to polish go figure

Real simple...........put a heat gun or hair dyrer to the cracked up paper an peel off all you can......most prolly youll end up with sticky black residue on the glass an a thin transparent plastic sheet in yer hand......next use a small piece of hard carpet as your rubbing utensil, an some shampoo mixed with water as the lube......spray the lube with bottle onto the glass an agitate the residue with the carpet an itll all come off........

Just to put you in check, the basic turtle formula is nowhere near the coolness of the ICE..........but for starters......notin more like it to learn the basics.......Nice collection to start with.....do come back with the results...... an do read the instructions carefully on how to apply the stuff......

no problem :), i was busy as well . i was too tired because ov all the headache over there, navigation dvd etc all were working fine only reverse came was giving trouble, now everything is fine:)
