Meray bhai, all the people who have answered are experts......there is a very good trait in this thread, no one speaks unless they are pretty sure of what they are saying........have trust in them.....sure I run this circus but all are accomplished detailers here....MashAllah! I stand with their reviews an correct them wherever necessary......now that outa the way, JazakAllah for holding my opinion in high regard.....finally gettin down to business.....the old stuff you have.....well, its not exactly rockstar material....so loose it.....now coming to application method and coats....with consideration to swirls an shine.....

Turtle wax super hard shell: apply on clean car with foam in circular motion, give some hazing time an remove with a microfibre.

Meguairs ultimate quick wax,Turtle wax and dry spray wax: (both are the same thing) Spray onto the surface, an wipe off after a few moments.......you can use both as mid week detailers, or for a top up after a wash.

Turtle rubbing compound: Forget touching your car with this...too abbrasive, to be used for maaajor paint issues.....scratches.

Washing mits and MF's : Mitts to be used for washing car, MF`s for drying it and wax removal

Use the products in the order mentioned

Aoa detailing crew. I was busy so I was away from internet from past 3 days. Meanwhile this thread produced some great pages for me to read:)

After seeing the picture of RR the only issue I see is orange peel. According to me it car only be corrected by wet sanding then cutting with rotory only by doc's hands:D

Oh I know mussafah...on a nice day it should not take you more than 15 minutes to get to Carrefour near the Khalifa mosque...you'll get quite a few MF collection there ranging from 12 AED to 30 AED...Chamois options are plenty as well but they start of 35 plus. you'll get quite a few Armor all products at carrefour as well.

For MEGS (in product range plus MEGS MFs) you'll have to come to Dubai and visit Yellow Hat on First floor of Times Square (mall) (an interchange after MOE coming from Abu dhabi) on Main Sh-Zayed.

Prices...well

The Most expensive item was teh Megs NXT for 65 AED and cheapest was MEGs Gold Shampoo for 37 AED (Not counting the Armor All Tyre Foam which was 22 AED). MFs which I got from here ranged from 20 AED to 30 AED.

Megs MF however, started from 55 AED and averaging at 70.

I will try to check out ACE as well in a day or two as I have heard they have some range of MEGS as well...

thanks bro.yar any idea what they do at garages of abu dhabi for the term "polishing" . the bengali fellow aint good in explaining. and they dont even let you see the process. u have to leave the car there for a whole day. and they charge about 250 aed for my camry when i asked them its price. i m searchin for the economical method of saving the silver shine of camry.

and yar swirl ka kuch bata doo. my black paki corolla and silver camry both have sever swirls . camry coz of desert sand and corolla coz of " i dont know". waiting for response . cheers

Any compound......just make sure it`s meant for light to medium cut.....nothing with heavy cutting ability.

We use "abrasive" to describe any material that is used to shape or finish a workpiece through rubbing which leads to part of the workpiece being worn away. While finishing a material often means polishing it to gain a smooth, reflective surface it can also involve roughening as in satin, matte or beaded finishes. An besides abrasives there is no other way to REMOVE swirls.For glazes you can use mothers hand glaze, turtles hyper polymer glaze an lastly megs mirror glaze....all three can be used in manual application.For manual application of swirl remover I always suggest the circular motion....back an forth is better in waxing, only when you have experience.....n JazakAllah for admiring the work!

Im on the hitlist of maaaany detailing facilities simply cuz of my muft mashwara scheme going on here......NO PROFESSIONAL DETAILER WILL EVER LET YOU SEE THEM WORKING ON THE CAR.....they show diff prods, charge for them but use different ones on the other end......Im guessing they just rub some comp over it........source DODO Juice Lime Prime from somewhere an use that, its micro abrasive properties will ensure a safe cut an a shiny finish...even by hand, wax it later on with any high quality wax........for swirls, polish them out (abrasive) or glaze them (masking).

Bro go to ACE on mina road (abu dhabi) and you will get everything including MEGs...they have quite a nice range (I went to the one in dubai on sh-zayed road)...so your major problems have been solved.

As V1 said...source out your Dodo lime prime...since you are in UAE...order it from the net and you'll just have to pay shipping costs (unlike us back in PK...duties bhee bharnee partee hain).

Till your Dodo doesn't arrive...try masking the swirls through glazing and multi wax coats.

And yes now the GEM...if you do not want to order DODO LIME PRIME...I have a very nice MEGS product recommendation. They have this new rubbing compound released in 2010 which is for removing swirls and light scratches and is a NON SCOURING FORMULA and is SAFE FOR CLEAR COATS and even SINGLE STAGE PAINTS...and has specially been designed for Hand detailers...I just bought it today from ACE. It is called MEGUiARS CLEAR COAT SAFE RUBBING COMPOUND.

Lahore mai kai nai milay, one of my cousin were travelling from Saudi Arabia, bas usko keh beatha tha k maray liyay kuch cheezay lay aana i text him the stuff i needed, soucha ka puri duniya mai Meg MF ki price almost 9$ hai for a pack of 3... so i ordered like 4 sets (4x3=12 Meg's Mf) 9$ x 90 = 810 for 3 Mf, not a bad deal...So i go for it knowing that 12 cloths will be enough for my 1-2 years need.

Lakin... jab samaaan aaya, aur receipt hath mai aii, tab pata chala k kiya blunder laga hai it was in Pack of 1 only and 1 MF cost me 39.75 SRiyal which is 39.75 x 24 = 954 for 1 MF

before I give any more comments...tell me honestly what do you think as to what kind of a job have you done in terms of how your car looks...after all you did bring her home two months brand new...so how does it look now...better than new...yeah?

and this is just with shampoo and wax...imagine what you can do with your entire arsenal once its here...

Get a lot of MFs...avoid putting in swirls...your's is a new car.

I chose this pic as my fav...cause I can't bloody tell the color of the car in this one...it's soooo blinging oh btw...avoid the machine for the time being...

For the camera...you want a point and shoot or a DSLR...lemme know your budget and I'll recommend you the best within that range

Yes honestly i like the shine myself, the new car has the shine when i brought it 2 months ago, but with waxing, it give the wet look which i actually looking for... My main concern is Wet Wet and Dark enrich looks, instead of mirror kind of reflection..

& yes it was with the shampoo and Wax, both products by Turtle Wax as shown in picture

I ordered 4x3=12 Mf, lakin i already got 4 of them (as it was 1 MF in one packing :/) but i have ordered more from USA which i will be getting on this Sunday, hopefully.. and yes this time its a pack of 3 Meg's MF

Well regarding camera, hmmm actually i want some motion effects, clear pictures even in dim light, specially in night if we shoot outdoor in almost low light..but one of my friend said that the car motion trick is basically editing stuff.. so koi bi camera chal sakta hai..
DSLR is good, but i don't think i need that much professional.. though budget is not an issue.. Hmmm what about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX100V or Nikon D3100... i know these both are kind of pro cameras..

Vague one...a question for you...

Kse's car...the job is very nicely done and the reflections are too good...but they are more towards the flat mirror type of reflections...you know that depth and that drippy drooly wet look is missing. Could this be due to the fact that maybe the Turtle Wax platinum he is using has a formulation which is more on the synthetic side and less on the natural side. You know that invisible glass coat seems like missing...

Kse try doing a second coat with a natural carnauba on top of this one...and I assure you the result is going to be out of this world...you'll be adding tremendously to this arleady present brilliant blinging shine you've got. hmmm...maybe this wax you've got can be a good alternative for a glaze coat...let's see...

Hmm good point bro, i got the understanding.. so what Natural Carnauba wax u recommend? The thing is here in Lahore we can have Turtle Wax and Mother's products only.. No Meg's so if that particular Natural Carnauba wax is available in your city, then kindly help me in getting one really thanks for the help and kind suggestions

as recomend earlier by omar bhai get a detailer spray bottle, u can go for turtle rsabout 750 or armorall about 520 and give final wipe with thoes to get depth in ur car
