AOA. Guys I have a query. I have a 3 months old civic. I am interested in buying meguiars mf cloths so will it be useful to get now as there are already some minor swirls on it. I mean to say will it help in stopping furthermore swirls ya jtne parne the pr chuke?

Yes go ahead and buy M's MF its better than normal cloth used on service station for washing

Proper washing technique
Proper drying technique
proper care of paint surface
Good quality waxes

All above factors will reduce and help in hiding swirls , you are lucky , 3 month is not a long time , so you can fight back swirls & protect & maintain your ride

Guys I am new to this detailing. I know it has been deliberated in detail in this thread but i would really appreciate if someone can give me a quick run through the whole detailing process and recommend some economy products. I own a City 08 and so far my detailing has been limited to washing with a car shampoo and drying with MF cloth and afterwards waxing with kangroo again using MF.

It's difficult to explain how to apply it. You have to be a authorized installer but if you Youtube "OptiCoat" there a few videos that show how to apply it.

With this product, it's easier said then done. No amount of descriptive text or photography will show you how to apply it until you do it yourself.

Here's the ideal application

After polishing, remove all polishing residue
Wipe down with CarPro Eraser
Apply a few cc's into the supplied foam applicator (I usually fold the applicator into itself for maximum applicator coverage)
Apply to the panel, go in straight lines. With a light hand and quality MF, level the areas that you've over applied the product.

Do this panel by panel to the whole vehicle.

If it's your first time, apply a bit in a inconspicuous area.

Opti guard is the pro version, while opti coat is the consumer version. I think the only difference is the drying time. That's what I know, maybe I am wrong.

He's correct, OptiGuard cures faster (1 hr as suppose to 12hr and full hardening within a week as suppose to 30 days) OptiGuard is also a thicker coating so it protects "more" it's not to be abused but can take a bit more.

How much more? Well the thickness is measured in microns so it's not enough to make a big deal out of but the average thickness is 2 microns. For comparisons sake an average human hair is 56 microns.

Opti guard is unavailable in Pakistan and can only be done by an authorized dealer. Opti coat is the consumer version of it which is avaiable very sparingly in Pakistan
