Car making weird whining noises after ran out of gear oil

So we went for tour in naran kaghan and on our way back it was raining and visibility was very low. So there was a rock in middle of road which i couldn't see but as soon as i got close and realise it was too late and the rock hit the bottom of the car after driving for few mins, we reached batakundi and car suddenly stopped moving even tho it was accelerating.
When we got a mechanic to check it, car gear box was damaged and oil leaked out and it was emptied we got it repaired and fill the gear oil again.
But after that car started to make a weird whining noise at start. when we asked the mechanic who fixed it, he said it's because the oil pump was ran dry and because of that it's making that noise
So we didn't bother that much and came back to lahore
After reaching lahore we got our car checked and the mechanic said it's timing chain making that noise
So i don't understand if it's bad oil pump or timing chain making that noise
When car is cold and we start it the sound starts to come and when accelerating sound increases, the sounds lasts for few mins until car is at normal temperature
So what could possibly the problem??

Toyota fielder and automatic transmission, I'm currently using 20w50 and i think maybe that oil is causing some problem

3 mechanics checked and said timing chain fault
But i don't think so it's timing chain fault or gear box because shifting of gears is really smooth and that sound only comes at cold start and last few mins
I think it's 20w50 causing that noise because that oil is really thick

My father's mechanic, im 19 year old and you know desi families my opinion is as good as trash, Pakistan needs to give certificates to mechanics and shut down the ones without them because more than half of mechanics in Pakistan are stupid AF i went to 4 mechanics and all of them said 20w50 is good oil but again my heart use to say it's too thick and after doing some research it turns out to be true.. my mechanic also says brake oil doesn't needs to be change..

I expect better from the educated auto guys at least so was a bit disappointing to see @dani_kk also suggest such a thick oil grade 50..

Anyway 5w30 is the recommended oil even 0w20 is used since 2008-9 worldwide.
Run it till engines lifetime must be fully synthetic from any major oil brand like caltex/havoline, shell, or in direct legal imports Mobil1 .

Because god knows how old 20w50 has been used in it.
If I would say 5w30, you would have happily gone for it?
I use 5w30 in all of my cars and I can handle any mechanical problems in my car.

So better advice is go with the taglon 5w50 first and see if the sound vanishes with it. If it does then next time drop to 5w40. But if sound doesn't even go with 10w40 the enduser will be again in the same panic mode.
And if the bearings have some frictional damage and you stick to less viscous oil the friction tends to increase further rapidly causing crankshaft bearing failure. So the advice I am giving is harmless and by dropping to 5w the viscosity of oil will be less at ambient temperature. You can yourself do the experiment like, take two jars and one by one drop the 20w50 first and it will come out of bottle like honey in winters. And when you do the same with 5w50 it will come out with more pace as if its less viscous and hot temperatures will stay the same.

Always change all lubes regularly.
And especially the brake fluid near 50,000 km and if reaching to that milestone takes more than 2-3years just change it.

I use 5w30 full synthetic oil in my Nissan.
And in cold start the timing chain sound comes for like 4-5seconds and smoothens out. So in cold weather it takes few seconds with such a less viscous oil. So the first two digits if go above 5w in winters the sound of timing chain stays there for longer.
