Car Paint Oxidized ! Need help!

Hi and ASSALAM-U-ALAIKUM! I have a 1996 Mitsubishi Pajero ( 5 door ). The paint on the sides ( doors, fenders etc. ) is fine just some minor scratches on them and gives a good shine when the car is clean. However, the roof and the hood are the exact opposite. There is what seems to be oxidized paint on the roof about 20% of it ! there is minimal oxidizing on the hood but the paint is dull ( only on hood and roof ) ! the car when cleaned gives a very nice look but, the roof and hood seem to spoil it ! What can i do to restore the old paint other then getting a paint job. Also the car went for minor repairs and the painter did do a compound polish job but it dint seem to help at all. Maybe he dint do it properly or whatever . But i heard that the right compound or polish can remove these stains if applied correctly . Any help or tips would be appreciated . Thankyou

Yes, you can detail your car on your own and get good results. First you need to wash your car thoroughly and clay it. Then compound your car. Meguiar's Ultimate compound is by far the best, most advanced and relatively easy to use. Compound your car and follow it up by Meguiar's Ultimate Polish. All the products can be bought collectively for around 5000-6000 rupees.

Finally wax the car of your choice.

It would be helpful if you post the pictures as well.

there is no fix..u can polish compound it will look fine..but it will go back to its original state.. the only way is re paint..

repaint it - usually japanese cars "specially japan domestic models" have pathetic paint quality. It does not last.

If I were you,
1. Clay
2. Compound- Meguairs ultimate compound
3. Polish- Meguiars ultimate polish
4. Glaze- Zymol spray glaze or mothers step 2(micro-polishing glaze)
5. Sealant or wax- or both- Wolfgang or klasse sealant topped up with Meguiars Gold Class

I thought he just had impurities and imperfections on his clear coat so i said that this would be the way i would go about it..
Though we dont even know what colour or finish this car has...

Sorry for the irrelevant reply but- @xulfiqar, do you know where to buy 2k and 3k grit sandpapers in karachi... I have orange peel on my repainted hood and i need to even things out...

Post a picture, but sice you tell that it is only on flat panels and was not affected by compound it probably is clear coat failure, only repainting can fix it. Though you can try sanding and only spraying new clear coat, it may or may not work

That's clear coat failure.
You may try to get it sanded and get clear coat re-sprayed. Other option would be repaint.

Any chance it may blend in with the orignal paint after a good compound polish workup?

Yes bro it will blend in every time u have it compounded your losing a layer of paint. Do it by hand.
