I am stumped, btw... Altis is no doubt the best feature set i can get in its price, civic has a lot of extra features but too costly.

Man WT* why cant toyota use an immobilizer in their cars, its too damn important considering the security if cars, If suzuki can put that in swift, Toyota can put it in corolla.

IMC is working in in line to help thieves so more cars are stolen so that they achieve more sales. Hence they will never offer immobilizer in their brands. They are in the "Own" business as well by limiting output of the manufactring facility to mint money over the time delays. Their greed has no limits.

whats the point of extra features set in Altis when they cant offer basic necessities? i mean in country like Pakistan where we see thefts on almost daily basis, seeing IMC not taking necessary steps to discourage car thefts is like their level of being unconcerned and insensitive to customer needs... I mean... like you said... Corolla is as easier to steal as Mehran... and literally you can get 4 mehrans in one Altis' price and still differences in basic features arent worth it... appreciate the dual vvti, 6 speed tranny, rain sensors, eco meter... BUT... would have loved to see these features being assured to stay with customer ALONG WITH THE CAR.... HAD THE CAR HAVE IMMOBILIZER....

Sad Incident. Thats why I always prefer out of market cars.

I know a house nearby they got there new corolla stolen from the house. Now what they owner did is bought a new corolla but no more open space over there garage or walls its all covered with steel, No one can jump in.

Another friend's Corolla 2.0d got stolen the old shape one. He was from peshawar reputed family and searched that car for 2 weeks and found it. Paid around 2 Lacs and got the car back. He told me about different gangs working in Isb to lift cars.

BTW I know trackers are not much useful but maybe this practice is better what my uncle do with his corolla his. Whenever he needs to park it some where for 30 or more mins he simply calls tracker company and asks them to switch off the car.

Hmm I am thinking of installin some chor switch that cuts supply or negative to ECU. which wire to hook upto this switch Xulfiqar bhai can help

really sad over your loss... trackers have failed big time as I saw a banner at a police check post in islamabad suggesting people to get china made locks to protect the car as trackers are of no use now.

Its sad to see people here who have actually paid to get there cars back, rather than taking Police with them and finding the culprits (though I know it would have never helped... taking police)... but still I believe it is not ethical... what the people that pay up to these baboons do is encourage them to steal again from someone else and and ask for money again... so in a way everyone who pays ransom for there car is actually encouraging these baboons to steal from another person... I had my car stolen in Karachi (city 2007) was offered back for 3lacs I NEVER paid, it was insured and I did lost 5+lacs as it was leased but I NEVER paid, I gave the name of the person and the mobile number + recording to the police and left it there (off course nothing happened, but I am proud I did my part)... since then I have gone from City to Alto and now Unique 70 and I DO NOT regret it still

I hate people who will tell you to recite aytal-kursi and then tell you to pay up to the thief... Paying a thief is a crime against humanity in it self. sadly few will understand this.
