For the cars upto 1000cc engine life time token is compulsory now. Previously (till 30th June 2013) it was 10k but now its 17k. You'll have to visit Excise and taxation office with your car's original registration book and the details of the tokens already paid. They'll check it and give u a form to fill. They may ask u to get the form attested from the Postmaster of the post office from where u got the previous tokens. If u are resourceful enough then they may fill the form right there and let u pay the rest without having to go to post master (I didn't go to post office but got the form filled and signed right there with a little approach). Lets suppose if the total tokens u paid sum upto 3k then that amount will be subtracted from 17k and u'll have to pay 14k and will get a receipt for life time token along with a sticker to be displayed on the wind screen.

P.S. Unfortunately u are late. I paid before 30th June so I had to make it total of 10k, now its total of 17k.

I believe the compulsion applies for Punjab regd vehicles only ? I have an ISB regd vehicle and will be paying token of it first time (my vitz was imported/regd in 2012 aug)

Today Islamabad post offices were not receiving tokens for less than 1300cc Rwp and Punjab registrations saying them to go to ETO office in RWP.

For Punjab registered cars token can be paid in any Punjab city. Go to your nearest post office. However as your car is 2012 registered so I suppose it will be the 1st time you'll be paying token after registration and if I am not wrong, 1st token after registration is to be paid in that city's GPO but I am not sure about that. Someone else might guide you on that.

There is no need for going to gpo just register your car in any of the nearest post office and pay token that's it

one correction dear, yesterday I went to submit this "jaga tax", infact the formula is
A=token tax= 10,000- (540 x no. of years you have paid token)*
B= Professional tax= 200 (fixed amount)
C= Income tax= 7500 (fixed amount)

total amount to be paid = A+B+C
* my car being 850cc so 540 was yearly amount for my token, it may be different for 1000cc, also you must have all tokens alongwith you, otherwise you have to get a verification from the post office from where you got those tokens.

and no need for attestation from any one.

You know the funny part...just like the token tax that was subtracted paid over the year..we have paid income tax like that too...check copies of your older receipts which they took away from everyone last year.

I went to excise office DHA (jinnah avenue), Its a matter of only 5 mins. per person, but it took me about 45 mins, coz first there was a clash between ground floor and first floor staff that who will take my application, GF wala said ooper jao, FF wala said neechay jao......
then there was electricity failure, and just imagine they dont have UPS, so all systems went off...then generator was turned ON and systems were restarted. Then the person at counter didnt had "change" he asked my to give him "khulay paisay", and i was khawaar finding change for 500 rupee. (I had to give him 400 rupee but i had 350 as a change).
there was no huge lines, you just have to be patient....

i sent my cousin to pay my tokens for city 2006 in isb. am in peshawar. they charged him rs 3348. is the rate ok or not?

Bro i just bought mehran 2005 model isb reg...all tokens previously done from melody . My question now I have to pay for life time token ?
Secondly I ve city 2005 lhr reg and I m paying th token in I-10 post office from 4 years now do I need to visit pindi ETO for stamping and why is it necessary as I am already paying token in is although ride is lhr registerd

Life time token is necessary for Punjab registered cars only. Islamabad registered cars didn't have this option till 30th June. Now that N-League is in federal govt too so may be they make it compulsory in the future but no such news till now. So get the token from your routine post office. If any such thing as Life time token has been introduced for Islamabad they'll inform you.
Honda City is 1300 cc and all the cars above 1000 cc still have the previous routine token so you can pay token at I-10 post office where you usually pay.
