Can someone who has paid token tax in lahore guide me as what do I need to take to show them that I am a tax payer, the NTN verification from the FBR website? Or the tax certificate given to me by my company which they have submitted on my behalf or the IT2 tax return form print out?

I think that you just have to take the certificate given to you by the company, original registration book of the vehicle and the amount for the tax.

Last year when I paid the token and tax at ETO Islamabad, they stamped the registration book and issued me a sticker.
Are they issuing the stickers this time as well?

Same here but they were so stupid that they made a sticker that sticks from the outside of the windshield and not from the inside like normal permit stickers. They wanted to make some thing like what they have presently in England. Kehte hain na naql ke liye aqal bhi chahiye hai.

I never even bothered to do that. Have it in by reg book. If they ever ask for it I'll show it to them. I hope they issue proper stickers this year, though.

I have a Honda city 2006 Islamabad Reg:, Last year I paid 3000 at Islamabad ETO. Yesterday I called an agent for Paying the token Tax. He told me that this time Token Tax is Rs 6000. is it so?

I pointed out this to the attending clerk and he himself was perplexed as to why it is this way. He then told me that most people of 1500 cc and bigger cars have been coming and after finding out the rates, just leave without paying. He further advised me to wait a week or 10 days more and come back as he's been hearing that this list would be revised downwards and I surely hope so that is the case. At CMA post office when I arrived at 10:45am, Owls were nesting as we would say in Urdu. Sheer height of stupidity by the authorities not to mention the taxes being charged.

LOL I won't give them the satisfaction to fleece more money out of me.I'll probably go on the 21st or 22nd and get done with it whatever the rate is.Yeah it may just be that, dil ki tasalli as you put it and unfortunately we've become accustomed to hearing it from every government that comes to power.Hopefully I pray we all get up from this nightmare and status quo within our lifetime. Aameen!

My brother paid token tax of our vehicle at lhr gpo.he told me that income tax in token tax cannot be exempted in this way by showing tax pay proof but it can be adjusted or refunded.i dont know the method,he will tell me as he is CA internee

So what you (your brother) is trying to say is that if:

Token tax is 40K for non-filers and 20K for filers, BOTH parties will PAY 40K...
& the taxpayers will adjust this overhead of 20K in their next tax returns?
