hey people ,
i have observed that when i start my car in morning on petrol theres a lot of black water liquid throws from exaust , rest of the day is perfect no black or blue smoke or any worried thing , i would like to ask what is the reason for that black carbon deposit in the morning , do i need a new air filter ? although my filter is not in a bad state and i clean it regularly , or is it a rich petrol mixture , can some one please explain me what causes that black watery deposit in morning ? car is carby cultus , driven on cng and petrol both .

it is either a case of bad mixture, bad tuning + timing or bad paetrol. my car used to do the same but when we changed fuel station all became well

its definately not bad petrol because i recently had my petrol tank cleaned and than pour fresh total high super which is the best in town , now bad tunning or timing setting may be the issue , i have ask 2 mechanics and both telling me mixture setting is just perfect also i find perfectly better result while running car on petrol so i dont know i am confused .

go check if the exaust pipe has black soot. otherwise that black water sometimes occurs in the cold especially on carby engines. if there is no soot then it's only coz of the cold engine

yar i am damn sure that it is your fuel, i used to go to a pump of some "friend". he was always inviting me. i filled up da tank and went to suzuki 3s dealer who is also a friend (though a sincere one). he tuned but even he was confused about some black smoke since engine was not in bad condition. we changed petrol. pumps and the problem was gone. to make sure about petrol prob drive the car on cng for a few days. p.s the sign of a good mixture is that the car will give off water from the exhaust

thanks for the tip but i recently change my exaust pipe and the whole dholki aswell the last one when i saw it inside it was full of black water and mud anyways i think its cos of rich petrol fuel and cold engine i dont know if any one else comes up with more logical answer .

getting water drops from silencer indicates perfect mixture settings ... and as far as the color is concerned may be your exhaust is a bit dirty inside that's why the water drops changes their color to black ... anyways its nothing to worry about

if you suspect your petrol then i would suggest you to put some oil (engine oil) 50 to 100 ML in your fuel tank in order to save your valves .... if your petrol tank is full then put in a little more ...

Due to cold weather water from exhaust is natural.
Now about the black thing.If i'm not wrong, cultus has an auto choke which kicks in till the engine has achieved it's optimum temp,and when the choke is ON,the fuel mixture will be rich,resulting in black soot which mixes with water.
One thing to check is if u car is eating oil,IF it does then the black soot is the oil reaching combustion chambers.

car is nearly 1 lakh and 15 thousand km driven but engine is in a perfect shape mashallah se may be ring pistons are not perfect but not bad either car is not eating oil may be a little bit in every oil change i was using total quartz 20w50 and i have to refil very little now i am using caltex havoline 20w50 and i havent topup any oil yet so its not decreasing numerously so all good mashallah se i guess that auto choke theory of yours makes more sense to me btw what oil is best for old engines ? i found caltex is a bit dissapointing to be honest , i found total better which was shocking ?

harris dude theres no rocket science cleaning the fuel tank any good mechanic can do it all they need to do is to take it out empty it and clean it properly , make sure mechanic check all choke lines if theres any , make sure u put a new fuel filter , as far as where i had done mine i live in f.b area so i done it from here the cleaning , taking the tank out and putting it back will cost u any where around 800 to 1000 if theres a electric connections in it , it will cost u 200 extra give me a buzz if u live near my place or need any help .

and also remember to bring your own container to hold the fuel while the tank is being serviced. local mechanics fill the petrol in any convinient place and this usually contaminates it. it caused me great problems when the mechanic made my petrol dirty

unfortunately in karachi we have a limited availability of petromin , i called 2 dealers and they both run out , any other brand u suggest for old engines ?
