We internally investigated the issue and here are some key facts for everyone to evaluate the situation:
- CarSure is an inspection program which tells an approximate estimate of the vehicle’s overall condition as on the day of inspection.
- CarSure team inspects the vehicle without opening up or dismantling crucial parts of the vehicle which mean the report doesn’t reflect the condition of parts that are not visible
- It is solely buyer’s discretion whether to buy the vehicle or not based on the information provided
Now let’s talk about the case in point:
- The CarSure Report of the vehicle in question: REDACTED
- The first impression of Mr. Haider's mechanic was also positive about the vehicle until he dismantled the gearbox to find out the issue
- The CarSure inspection team clearly mentioned the following points to Mr. Haider after the inspection:
- The vehicle is accidental but repaired and except for one side and roof, the whole vehicle is repainted which is also clear from the report:
- The Radiator Core Support and Front Left Rails are also damaged
- The gearbox of the car had some serious scratches
- At the time of inspection, there was no oil leakage or spill visible
It must be taken into consideration that it is a normal practice of some sellers to conceal those things which they can. Oil leakage can be wiped off in a stationary vehicle. Oil spills are also only visible once a vehicle has been standing at a single point over an extended period of time. This cannot be identified in a 45 minutes inspection if the seller cleared the surface both on the gearbox or under the vehicle.
The steering rack is installed on the cross member and can only be inspected after dismantling like Mr. Haider’s mechanic did to identify the issue for repairs.
I personally feel that anyone who would buy this vehicle with the information provided in the report would make an informed decision and would know what he is getting himself into. We all agree here that an accidental vehicle is always a cause of trouble and nuisance.
PakWheels.com and CarSure are not responsible if the buyer, despite knowing the condition, went ahead and bought the vehicle.
The whole point of introducing CarSure Inspection Service in Pakistan is to help people buy vehicles without involving workshops and mechanics. CarSure is first of its kind service in Pakistan and it is still evolving. We all at PakWheels.com firmly believe in learning from our experinces whether good or bad. On behalf of PakWheels.com, I can assure you we will keep this case as a learning point and immediately work on introducing checks and balances in place that would ensure that cases like these won’t happen in the future.
I hope the people here would consider the facts before making any judgments about the service.
