"Cash on Delivery" in Pakistan

I recently ordered a smartphone worth 25k from ishopping.pk .. They shipped it using blueEX and their agent contacted me. He said that I have to make payment before he hands over the package to me. But I am of the opinion that I should check the package first if it is properly packed or not, second I should also check whether I got the same thing I ordered or not. Like matching the phone's IMEI with its box because there are some reports in online shopping where it doesn't match. Only when I am satisfied with these measures then I will pay.
So I need opinion that if I am right or not?

Thanks for the reply. The agent was insisting that first he will get the full 25k only then he will give me the package. I just called blueEX helpline and the person there said the same thing. I tried to reason with him that how can I pay such huge amount (atleast for me) without even checking what is in the box. He said they don't know what is in the box or what I ordered. They got the sealed package and they deliver it as it is they received. Now I am really unsure of whether to get it or not. Now I read ishopping.pk reviews and there are some complaints that the thing they ordered was faulty or wrong. Should I make it clear to them that I will only pay after checking what I ordered?

sorry but thats how it works on cash on delivery you pay before you are allowed to open, if later anything is wrong or does not match or is missing you contact the seller and if they have a refund policy(check before buying) they would refund you back your amount, the shipping company blue ex in your case would never allow you to open before paying.

thats how Cash on delivery works in most parts of the world, and thats why being in pakistan i never order anything worth over 8-10k max on cash on delivery so that I can digest if something goes wrong.

Just called ishopping.pk.. They said its the terms of cash on delivery that I have to pay first. They also said that I have 24 hours to check the device. He said I should run it extensively for 24 hours and if I encounter any problem I should send it back to them and they will send a new one. They said that it has official warranty.

I would advise against getting such items which have more than 3 to 4K value on COD. I have heard people complaining afterwards and the service provider took too long to refund it / replace it and in many cases that never happened. It might happen in other parts of the world but we know that Pakistan main kuch khaas meharbaani hey Allah ki logo per so people try to cheat others.

You're right but actually I live in a town and in urgent need of a smartphone. Can't go to the city with fasting so had to purchase this way. Most probably my first and last shopping of something >4000 with COD.

I have ordered more than 2 lac rupee worth of things from daraz. Pk and honestly everything came sealed back amd they have a 7 day no question asked return policy. U dont like it just send it back with packing for full refund. Bought lawn shoes phone, water dispenser.

Okay so I finally got my cellphone which I ordered online. Everything was packed with Advance Telecom warranty card. The box had even Screen Protector and free Back Cover (to protect back and sides from scratches) inside it.
Warranty starts on September 1st, 2017 and I confirmed the warranty from inside the Huawei official app too. So a PTA approved device with one year warranty. ishopping.pk staff was very helpful and very keen to know if I am satisfied with the product I ordered.

Daraz.pk is great tbh. Got gifts for gf, birthday gift for cousin, mobile phones and stuff from there. No issues in delivery time either.

In market the minimum price i got for chrome cast 2 was 4800, ppl were selling for 5k to 6k
Ishopping was offering it for 4200 with free delivery.

Last month ordered Cg detailer and received shampoo instead . This time ordered Meg Ultimate Quick detailer and received interior detailer .

Same. I ordered chromecast2 from them too at the same price. And yeah on other websites and in the market the cost is much higher than this.
So its been 6 months till I posted this question and from that date onwards, I have ordered a LOT of stuff of online from many online stores...telemart, homeshopping, kamyu, ishopping, gtstore, netcare to name the few. Overall its been a good experience. Just make sure that you are ordering from an authentic website like the ones I mentioned above and that you choose "Cash on delivery" option.

Worst experience of mine is going to be iShopping. I ordered chrome cast 2 by reading your comment here, they care for their customers. They actually don't even know what customer care means. Its been two days of my order and its still in pending state. They are saying we haven't received your payment yet. What I just did is, paid from my card before receiving my order. They got my money and now they damn care about CUSTOMER. If you still want to go for them and needs your product on time, never pay before(May be they care for you). Its 25th Ramadan and now after 2 days of continues calling, they are saying you may receive your order after Eid. Hell of you, I needed it for Ramadan programs.
Simply stated "worst experience" cuz don't know long I have to suffer more.

I am sorry that you had to go through this because of my comment After my last comment of chrome cast 2, I have done shopping from ishopping.pk which amount to around 1.5 lac rupees.... I again ordered a chrome cast 2 device around the same time you did but all of their products were being seized at customs department and they did tell me that it might take a month to get my device. So I asked that shall I go to some other store and they said that yeah if I can't wait this much longer than sure. So I had them cancel my order and bought the same device from telemart.pk instead.
Rule#1 : Never pay in advance while doing online shopping when you have the option to go for Cash On Delivery.

I am also a victim of Ishopping.pk. After making payment to them online I am still waiting for my products and it has been 15 days since payment.
