Guys, suggest between Samsung Galaxy A3 and E5.
E5 has 1.5 GB RAM instead of 1 but A3 has smaller display which is preferred. Thoughts?

Obviously the one with more RAM.
1GB RAM on a Samsung phone is unbearably slow.

Even if I uninstall bloat ware and only need to run 4-5 apps? Because the smaller screen size will be easier for my father.

Bloatware removal will help, but TouchWiz entirely is a very RAM consuming UI so there will still be noticeable lag and stuttering.

Is there anyway to install stock Android on it? And if so will it help? Want to explore all possibilities for the A3. If there's no solution I'll settle for E5. Though E5 is newer as well.

E5 has more RAM and the 5.1.1 update.
A3 has less RAM and only has 5.0.2

What you said about stock android, the answer is no.
Sadly, there is practically ZERO dev support for the Galaxy A series devices. So stock android isn't an option.

E5 is the better choice.

I've never used a mid range Android phone so I'm a bid hesitant. My father loathes Microsoft/Windows Phone and didn't want to shell out for an iPhone so I guess this is what I'm left with.

Check Samsung Galaxy J5 specs. I used it few days back, looks good but i think it doesn't have Gorilla Glass. 2600 mah battery.

J5 is latest. When i am confused, i choose the latest release!. Because E5 is already ~8 months old, as you know that how quickly the resale value drops for out of date stuff.

But do confirm that its snapdragon 410 inside it. Sometimes, Samsung use Spreadtrum SoC too. Like, Core Prime 3G has Spreadtrum SoC and 4G variant has Snapdragon 410. I used both of them and differences are noticeable.

P8 lite has above average battery timings, so Samsung is preferred IMHO.
