My uncle used to have one, and it's camera was simply fantastic! The quality was comparable to dedicated digital cameras of the time.

I wouldn't drop 50k on a phone with a Mediatek SoC. Heck, I wouldn't even drop 15k!

Go with Realme XT. Snapdragon 712 (10nm), OLED display (with always on function), screen embedded scanner (which is surprisingly fast), not to mention it's aesthetically more pleasing than the Note 8 Pro which is kinda... ugly!

On paper, yes. In practice, SD SoCs tend to perform better than MTK.

It's like comparing the very first Pentium 4 1.5 (1.5GHz) with the legendary Pentium 3 1200 (1.2GHz). The P4 may have a higher clock speed and might perform better on some benchmarks, but the P3 would still be faster in day to day usage!

Oh and... Mali GPUs on MTK chips are total crap!

My only concern with mi phones is that they are tooo thick! note 8 pro, mi note 10 they are so thick! Compare them with Samsung A71, its one of the thinnest phones available with nearly same battery capacity.

I am also waiting for more phones to launch as i have to buy a good phone this year which can last my next 2 years. Previously i have been using redmi 4x and samsung a20.

i dont care which chip set or processor a phone has inside if it is working butter smooth and flawless then its really a perfect phone with huge battery life 6gb / 128 gb ..OS updates.. great performance what else you need dear!
Beside that to me MIUI is much better and stable than other vivi, oppo or realme android layers

well if we look at other phones like s20, iphone, mi 10 then note 8 pro is well within the standards. Only the Mi note 10 is FATTT

Samsung a71 is also 4500mAH, same as note 8 pro but yes it costs much higher and A71 is kind of exceptionally thin. No other phones even within Samsung are that thin.

Same for me. Currently using 4x from last 2 years. It fell to the ground 3-4 times but still it's solid phone. So far so good.
Now thinking to upgrade to note 8.
Last year I was buying note 7 but one problem with Mi is that every new phone is coming in 3-4 months so one can't decide which one to buy.

Yes 4x is an amazing phone, it still takes better outdoor pictures than A20. I think we should wait for note 9 or at least wait for a discounted price for note 8
