This is because of the tax structure that companies have to pay here compared to India, and Toyota Indus doing shady stuff for so long i.e. not localizing their cars and probably lying about localization in their reports. Also, they have to do such things there because the car next to Yaris in India i.e. Corolla is very far high in price, and also not very popular. Or in case of Honda, there is no Civic in India (stopped after reborn, civic 10th gen was introduced but that has again been closed), so City has to cover both cars in features.
Changan needs to go a long way no doubt, but they are providing there
cars here with almost all the features one would expect abroad, save
traction and camera on mirrors.
These are bling bling shiny shashkas. Real features like proper vehicle stability control and traction control that require proper engineering, a lot more testing and development are still missing. The shashkas that require a few chips and some software are all present here. Another example is United Alpha, like they have 10 inch touchscreen but ABS is missing.

You are missing the point. I meant if required maintenance is done, toyotas and other reputable brands are reliable and they don't leave you stranded on the motorway. The same cannot be said about Chinese. Please look through the FAW V2 thread, Chinese cars have random quality and random issues. This is an indicator of generally lower quality of engineering compared to established brands.
On the pretext of shady stuff, isn't it shady when IMC was delaying
deliveries for yaris, and now I hear the quarter window doesn't even
have the black potion on it?
So by your logic, Changan/Masters doing shady business is fine if Toyota Indus is doing the same.

Yes FAW is not the same company as Changan, also Geely CK is not the same Changan Alsvin, also Changan is not the same company as Cherry, also Gree is not the same as Changan. But in all of these (minus Changan) have two things in common: Chinese origin and unreliability. Why should be expect anything different from Changan until they prove themselves?
