the whole thread is depicting one side of the story. The only benefit getting Islamabad number plates to the OP/thread poster will be that he can pay his tokens yearly in Islamabad rather than going to Jehlum.

Don't ever think that it will get Islamabad number and then Islamabad number's resale value...hahaha.

Your Original File of the car will get a "transferred" tag on it and when somebody will ask paper at the time of sale of the car, he is gonna come to know the whole story that the car is originally from some other city and registered to Islamabad. So, it might downgrade the thing, but will not upgrade in any case or be equivalent to an originally Islamabad Taxation Office registered vehicle.

This information is handy to those who are willing to transfer to Islamabad number just for resale or some shashka chakkar

a friend back in 2010 got his karachi registered 2003 civic islamabad number in QK series through some contacts

Transfer of Registration one city to other is banned, since 1996. As my info.

You can apply for Islamabad registration number without any problems.

visit Jehlum ETO office get an NOC for transfer of registration & the complete file.
Goto Islamabad office fill out paper work and submit original file with NOC from Jehlum ETO office. You will get Islamabad number & fresh regn book.

Ensure the taxes are cleared upto date when applying at Jehlum ETO office. Arrive at 10.AM and engage an agent outside Jehlum ETO office by 3 PM everything will be in order if you use right color picture of Jinnah saheb.

Above is valid only if car is in your name other wise it is different procedure

dear brother i wanted to ask if the new registration number will say 2012 or 2008 (assuming that car's original date of registration was 2008)?

whatever date is mentioned on the NOC from other town same will appear on the new book. You may try to act clever (read naive) but the complete orginal file will be returned to you from NEW city ETO office with an stamp - original registered 200x in xx city - re-registered in 20xx
