Change of tire size matters?

Hi,I am having 195\65\R15 91H on my corolla 2010 i am going to change the tires soon.

I have a question that if i change my Ride's tire size to 205\65\R15 94H won't it damage my car's suspension,engine or anything else?

it may be a simple question for some pakwheel'rs but not for me!please help

Well it would increase fuel consumption(little bit)

it may also void your warranty ....

yaar i hv changed my altis tire's to dunlop sp sport9000 205\65\R15 94H from champiro BXT 195\65\R15 91H (came in stock)the change i hv seen

1-fuel consumption have be been increased from 10km to 9.7km
2-there is little just little bit increase in tire sound
3-Dunlop sp sport9000 is more soft tire good for our roads
4-Load capability of tires have increased from 91 to 94 that's good for me
5-better breaking now

My opinion is that 205\65\R15 94H is a good tire size it won't effect the suspension and other things in your car as there is only small difference of tire width but remember one thing do not change the profile,and rim size these two things will effect your ride too much (just a suggestion)

Most warranties are already voided or if not then expired before the 1st tyre change.

well you are not going for stock size, rather a larger one. so it is a possibility if you have warranty it might be void. you can contact 3s for accurate info.

change of tires voids the warranty, as the indus people consider it as modifications.

while selecting a new car tyre usually 4 things are considered vital:
1. Traction.
2. Noise.
3. Cornering capabilty.
4. Ride comfort.
Usually once you purchase a tyre you have to see the best compromise depending upon the way you drive or the area in which drive.
91H has a little comfortable drive but less load bearing capacity as compared to 94H which has a little hard side walls, but to tell you frankly it does not have an effect on fel consumption.

on a site i was just searching regarding this topic and i got this info

"When installing new tires it is always recommended to use the manufacturer's original equipment (OE). If you wish to increase the size of your tires, most professionals recommend staying within a 3 percent variance of the OE diameter. It is crucial to remain as close to the vehicle's OE size as possible to ensure safety, reliability, operation and correct speed readings"

i checked on tire size calculator 205/65/R15 just shows 2% variance and as me\you know that 3% variance does not harm anything so i have decided to put 205/65/R15 94H dunlop sp sport9000 as i will get good traction and also more weight carrying capability and warranty is just a drama created by toyota indus to earn more money.

warranty claim is void if u did any sort of upgrade in ur car like remote lock ,amplifier foglight ,rims tyre

Well current size for corolla is quite good it has sufficient traction....i don't think it wud make drastic change in grip while going from 195 to 205..... warrenty terms and condition clearly mention you should use same size as recommended by Indus.......About weight carrying capacity well you can get any 195 size tire how much weight are you planning to take on .......i am using yokohama DB 195 in my corolla and they are very good .....

we have seen different manufacturers in pakistan using different sizes for same vehicle. so to me it makes no difference what size OE has listed in pakistan. however, for similar models produced in japan give a fair idea about the tire size requirement.

now coming to changing of size, it depends on individual requirement such as road grip, loading capability, speed, mileage etc....

changing from 195/65r15 to 205/65r15 is normally to increase road clearance, enhance road grip etc... normally 15-20% user shift to 205/65r15 without any major difference or problem.to us it seems quite ok.

bro ihave 2006 xli and i have changed tire size from 14 to 15, would it effect the consumotion, pick and speed meter reading? would it get worst or better?

from 195/65/15 to 205/65/15 is not much difference...
would be a nice change, go for yokohama DNA dB..

good info aval on tyre sizes / size comparison at ehow.com, however, my honda city 2005 suggests max 181 on the wheel (stock size is 165). i had bought the vehicle in used condition in 2007 and tyre size then was 195. i had noticed poor braking and skidding in the car and later on shifted to 185 size. i am of the view that one should stay close to the oem specifications as i had a bad accident also using the 195 size where my car skidded and went out of control. I think placing of spacers at rear wheels also ads to the instability of car as the manufacturer measures specifications to the minutest part of a milimeter.
