Parts are NOT 5x expensive than Toyota. I just saw a 85 charade diesel got general engine overhaul and the cost including mechanic + machinist (Kharadia) + transport/hauling + spare-parts was 23,250 rupees only. Charade TD is cheaper to run, fuel economy is up to 20 kmpl in city (depending on how light you are on gas paddle). And the most important, if everything is good, then you shouldn't be worried about it at all! These engines are build to last up to 200,000 kilometers if you don't abuse it.

Now talking about Nissan Sunny 1993, this is what comes in Prime Minister's Taxi scheme in 1992-93 era. This car is also very good and newer than Charade but few are there with diesel engine in good condition. Now if you find a good diesel Nissan 1993, I don't think if you can buy it in less than 300k (unless the car is badly ruined by accident or rust). Don't even think of Nissan Sunny 1993 in 200K!

At what step of trouble shooting do you place opening of a carburetor to address frequent intermittent start up problems in charade on petrol? someone approached me for advice. In my reckoning if the trouble is off and on, its related more to dirty petrol, carbon on point of the contact breaker perhaps etc. I would rather go for these things like changing fuel filter that has never been changed in years and flush the tank and change the CB etc. the other guys mech insists opening and servicing the carb. I have advised AGAINST until as last resort. Please put me right if I am wrong. The car is running on petrol fine other than intermittent problems of starting and slight rough run at best.

the carburettor should be your last thing to touch. start with ignition and then tappets. contact points burning out is usually from bad condenser or wrong ignition coil.

Well, I didn't go into details because it wasn't my car. I was getting my car's clutch replaced and that car was getting general overhaul so I asked the owner and mechanic and they told me this thing. If I meet him again, I'll ask for him about the car performance and other details

Stock engine is best for charade why do you want to swap?

Thanks for the reply. mechanic is asking 25k for overhauling it. And few months back I had to go to rawalpindi (which is 50 kms from where I live) for a carburetor butterfly. I also sometimes need to travel through countryside, so parts availability becomes an issue. I know experts don't recommend swap in it but I am looking for possibilities for better economy on petrol, parts availability and most importantly minimum alteration. That is because my car is only good under the hood . I will be replacing the most of the other body parts as well. So giving a lot of thought to this long term investment on engine.

Stock engine is best for charade why do you want to swap?

Guys I own a Charade 84. Its not in a very nice condition. So it needs denting & painting, AC, both bumpers to be replaced, replacing both front tyres. Can anyone tell me how much would all the above modification would cost? & how much time will it take? Thanks. Would appreciate your prompt & honest response.

i got rates from pindi, 3 types of bumper pairs... one 6000 , 2nd 7500 and third 12000 rs... denting painting, depends on the work requirement and quality of paint you want to have. tyres, 2nd hand, around 8-10000Rs ( i replaced them over a year ago). Please share your restoration details as I will embark on mine's project, shortly.

I own a charade G100, in original but in bad condition, so I have decided to spend some hard earned money on my car, got almost like new kabli engine, currently working on wiring and all interior stuff, as I have the complete engine and chassis manual so it easy for me to do things by my self after office hours and off days, its a long process to recondition a car, need help to get some parts

Hey guyz, i own charade 86/87. Recently i worked on gear box which cost around 5.5k and changed point, air filter, plugs, and i hv done tuning of tappet and all when i bought. Plus today i have done work on its suspension including axel, shocks and every thing its good now. But its pickup is dead almost. not going above 60 or 70. Feels like someone forcing my car to run and its not in mood mechanic says, your engine is weak but previous owner said its overhauled and it has no sound, just one small nut of tappet is different , jo hamesha dheela hojata hai tau usay dobara tight karna parta hai. other mechanic says plugs mein oil araha hai tau rings ka kaam hai.. ab mein kia karun mjhe kuch samjh nahi araha.. har tarhan se gaari Ok hai but why not pickup and i cant get rid of overheating issue ... jab key radiator bhi change krwaya.. RPM disturb hojata hai. 2 din gari set rehti hai phir wohi masla, Experts need help ! Im in karachi.

just got lucky with wiring diagram for Charade G100 (anda), as i already have engine and Chassis, wiring diagram is bit technical, an engineer or any person with technical background can understand it, as color code of wire are also mentioned.

engine cost me 32k w/o gearbox in exchange from shafiq mor Karachi, went there with my mechanic and we have to select a engine from 7 to 8 options, and we managed to select a good one, engines are stored then shipped and stored which make then little rusty, so before installing make sure piston cylinder and ring are all good, so we changed the rings, timing belt and oil pump chane before installing engine, engine sound's excellent, also changed exhaust, now currently i'm working on wiring, strip all wiring and tracing a culprit to fix and resolve wiring issues. also planed to perform dent n paint job next month.
I need all guidance and heads-up from you guy's.
