Chennai(Madras) Road Trip

I dropped in at the oldest auto service station in Chennai.I liked the look of the 'art deco' building, very similar to the kind of building found in South beach, Miami!!.They're the authorized service station for GM cars, but i found a Honda CRV and an old Merc E-class too!!....

Back on the road again......

I drove into the 'Ispahani Center", a mall like building filled with coffee shops and gyms!!.Interesting!.A sign said 'photos prohibited', so all i could do was sneak in a pic of the parking area in front of the building!!....

Some 4-wheeled citizens of i spotted along the way...a 'Made in India' Merc C-class....

I enter a crowded street and get 'stuck' right behind a Toyota Innova.......

I'm on the road again.....

I drove past Rippon Building....Corporation of Chennai headquarters...beautiful!..

Almost sideswept a speeding FIAT palio hatch!!......

This is really cool!.At most traffic junctions they have giant TV screens that show news and stock info.makes waiting at a traffic light less of a drag!.....

And ofcourse, the new Civic is everywhere....

After trailing this Getz through early evening rush hour traffic........

...to the relative safety of my office parking lot!!.There's a great cafeteria in there!!....

I can drive in Indian cities peacefully as long as i stick to one lane.If i have to change lanes, i go into a tizzy!!.I need two ciggies to calm me down.Luckily a pack of India Kings costs Rs33.00!.Unlike in Newyork where a pack of marlboro's are $7.00 average.The same pack in India costs Rs.65.00!!!.LOL.

the Rippon building is very nice..plus the huge screen is looking cool but is it water proof?!?!?

nak....reg. the tv screens, i guess they're designed to weather the elements.We have similar screens in Times Square in Newyork city and they survive the elements too.The SUN is finally out in Madras again after three days of gloom!.My earlier pics would have looked much better had the lighting been good.
