ACCESS HYUNDAI.....They weren't as nice as the Chevy guys when it cam to taking pics, but they let me do so.I took a few pics hurriedly and left.....

HYUNDAI ELANTRA......the showroom was busy and crowded so i couldn't move back and get a good shot.....the car in the pic Rs7.2 lacs all included,free insurance for one year thrown in....

SONATA EMBERA......they didn't have one in the showroom!!...Demand is good they say and production is at full capacity!!.RS1.4 odd million all included will get you the car in the pic.I was take to a garage at the back of the showroom and showed the manager's car.I've seen the car in newyork , but not this close.It is nice.Worth the money...

I didn't bother to photograph the Santro Xing.It is the cheapest Hyundai model in India and there was a small crowd checking it out while i was there.One can't beat the price, Rs2.78 lacs basic to Rs3.27lacs for a medium trim package.A middle mgmt/bank clerk/new grad with a corporate job, in India can easily afford the monthly payment for this car!...

The sun is out.Great for taking pics.I was on my way to MPL Ford , one of 4 Ford dealerships in Madras.Passed the City Center mall and decided to take a pic.I took two.Why not?....

Thank you Petrol.Diesel is approx. 36 rupees, petrol 51.83 for unleaded and a rupee more for premium.These prices are ex-Chennai(Madras).

very nice hyundai line up...we only have 3 cars n one suv in the Hyundai lineup but besides Santro, i've yet to see the others(they arent that much common)...one is Sonata (2.4L,3.3L) n the other one is a sports coupe Tiburon (1.6L, 2.0L,2.7L) plus there is an SUV Terracan(2.9D, 3.5 V6) n a Truck too ...the prices r almost the same keeping in view the difference in currency.... I suppose those Hyundais in India r locally assembled??...

How are u?.Are you back to work?.I just finished one training session and am on my lunch break.Regarding the Santro, this is the current model sold worldwide, except in Pakistan and i don't know the reasons why not??.

The Santro sold in Pakistan is the previous generation model which was made in India from 1998 to 2003.My aunt has a 2002 model with only 20000 odd km on it and she's lucky if she'll get 1.6 lacs for it!!.How much is the car priced in Pakistan?.Anyways, thanx for the info about Pak Hyundai web site.I have to get a battery for my camera and i'll post pics of my visit to a local Ford dealer.And some more of my Chennai road trip pics.....!!.Take care.

2002 model is currently sold between 350-400 k in pakistan that is 285k in india

i'm fine thanx hope u r doing well aswell...so a 2002 model santro for 1.6 lac..man thats really very inexpensive..cars' models dont tend to change very often here :D..except for the Honda...so this means that cars' prices dont tend to go down immediately, n this thing works in favour of the people's mentality...

The sun is still shining, i'm on the road, i thought i'll take a break!!.I did take a few road pics etc, today.I'll resume pics of my car dealer visits tomorrow....The revamped Ford Fusion is out, costs 5.69 lacs , 1 lac cheaper than the previous model with more features!!....the road trip continues....

I was driving around Adyar a suburb of Chennai till i took a wrong turn and ended up in this nightmare.New road construction was going on and the road turned into a detour.I smoked a lot when i came outt this one!!........

The High Court of Madras.This is all one can shoot 'cause entry depends on which side of the law one has been in lately!!.Beautiful building built by the Nawab of Arcot, the principality under which the present city of Madras is located.The current Nawab one Mr.Mohammed Abdul Ali, the VIII Prince of Arcot is one of the patrons of Chennai(Madras) and has held important positions in this city.

Another road pic....this leading to Fort St.George, the seat of the state govt. and the first british settlement in South Asia....Near the city in St.Thomas Mount ,is where one of Jesus Christ's disciples 'Doubting' Thomas the Apostle, was killed while spreading the gospel in 72 A.D.I've learnt a lot about the fascinating history of South India this trip!!.
