I have extended my stay in Madras thru the weekend.My company is organiziing a weekend retreat for staff at the ancient seaside resort town of Mahabalipuram(Mahab) for short!!,and have insisted i stay.I will return to newyork tuesday afternoon!!.This is the 1st visit to India where i am reluctant to get back to the US!.Anyways, thanx for your comments and kind words.I have enjoyed taking these pix.Gave me an incentive to explore the city of Madras and learn about it's history.I have a few posts of car dealerships in my pentax camera which i keep leaving in the office perpetually, which i will post tomorrow!!.Also, i will post pics of my weekend trip before i get to the airport!!.I'm actually giving Bombay a miss this trip!.I cannot believe it!!...

I espied a Kinetic Comet motorcycle at the gas station i drove into.....the dude had biked in from Bangalore, was heading for the hill station of Ooty in TamilNadu state....Indian motorbikes and bikers have come of age!!....

I pray the SUN shines tomorrow.That's the one grouse i have this entire trip!!..Not enough sunshine, just gloom.Just rain and gloom for the past two weeks!!.For one, Chennai has been cooler than Newyork this summer, though!!.Surprising, isn't it??.....

Who said Injuns don't exercise??.The suburb of Adyar in Chennai is home to the I.T. industry and I.T. professionals.The suburb is nearby the sea(Elliot's Beach) and the atmosphere is awesome.Somewhat like Monterrey, California!!.I kid you not.Lotsa young people, good looking girls, fancy cars and I.T. money.Plenty of the last commodity.Check out the road quality in the pic!.Money always talks!!..........

Any unused land space in madras is made into a garden!!.The city is teeming with these little islands of green and other colors.This shot is from the car....
