I love these corolla/civic discussions. Gives me a chance to share my experiences+facts i've gathered over the years.
The only thing I dont like is being called a fanboy. I mean, kisi car k baaray kuch acha bol do, & the opposition drags in calling you a fanboy
Let's keep this healthy & stick to the facts. If anybody has the proof to prove to me wrong, you're most welcome. It'll be an increment in my knowledge. (But ONLY with facts)

I think you should reconsider this comment.
The cars in my garage nowadays are: 1.8 Altis cruisetronic 2009, Civic VTi Oriel Prosmatec 2012, & Prado TX limited 1999. (MashaAllah)
The only thing about the corolla I like is how fast it is. Blows my civic in the dust, literally. (Only due to the tiptronic transmission. This transmission has much more inside of it than the + & - shifting. Its pretty interesting. You should google it when you get free time).
For the rest, the new civic is much better in each & every aspect as compared to the corolla in my experience of driving both

With this plus minus shifting toy u can play only till 4th gear u can never smoke auto civic 8th gen even from start till end
civic is 140hp with slightly smaller dimensions ( in width) and Altis 1.8 is 130hp with slightly bigger body And 4 speed cvt
Anyways u have both the cars in ur garage Ma Sha ALLAH so let the poster buy the better one hes not purchasing both let him select the better one

I didn't mean any offense when i asked you to google it. Considering you have joined pakwheels, its clear that you have interest in cars, so it will be for your own knowledge.
To make it clear, it is 4 speed tiptronic transmission, NOT cvt. That's why I was asking for hard facts as proof. I agree 4 speed is primitive, & civic's 5 speed is advanced, but the tiptronic here is the true winner. (1.6 corolla doesnt have the edge here because toyota removed the tiptronic transmission due to high cost, a typical harkat of toyota pakistan :P)
Secondly, the Horse Power you mentioned is slightly incorrect. Its 132 for Altis 1.8 & 140 for reborn. & another thing, horse power is only the determinant of top speed, not the acceleration. For the acceleration, the torque kicks in. Thats 128 lb-ft for reborn and 171 for altis 1.8. So here you go, the facts.
I appreciate your comments, as quite frankly, im a bit of a civic fan myself. I love the "fun to drive" element in it. Corolla abbu use krtay hain

Haha AWESOME!! Meri ghalti pakar le bro!
Unit is Nm. & another mistake, its 174nm....that equals 128 lb-ft
But google is liye khulwa raha hun so that you get to know whats so great about tiptronic transmission & why is this switchtronic transmission used in high end sports cars. Is lye we sold our 1.6 & kept 1.8 corolla, just for the fun of tiptronic, even though is transmission k saath consumption goes down the drain. Pathetic consumption, but really fast

Altis has a poor resale value
No doubt Altis Corolla is a hot cake but if u want to sell this cake at the price of a Gli
Civic has the best resale value in 1.8 category

Yes switchtronic transmission is a very nice feature
No bro , Civic Vti oriel pros 2005 and Reborn prosmatec both have a more responsive transmission than Altis
In terms of top speed and acceleration 0 to 180
Reborn> Altis> Civic 2005
But driving civic 2005 from 0 to 200 was much more fun than accelerating Altis 1.8 (new shape) from 0 to 170

Civic has the best resale in 1.8 category. You're talking about the 1.6 altis, it has a market of its own.
My altis 1.8 has never given me above 15km/l on long routes, whereas new civic gives me around 17

u can get civic 2010 model in 15 lac but u cannt get 2010 gli in 15 lac. .. yes definitely a bad civic 5/10 condition for 15 and 10/10 Gli for 15

If u compare both manual transmission
Then one thing is for sure Altis 1.6 is really very smooth as compared to reborn
Steering is very very light
Gear shifting is also very soft n smooth Reborn manual is a bit hard
