Thanks for your input hassan, can you let me know if D17 has ever been used in Pakistan domestic civics? or is this a pure JDM engine. Also if you can mention the complete engine type that would be really helpful.

Your comment makes a lot of sense, if it comes to a swap then it seems logical to go for a current model, can you please let me know the complete model number of the engine and also if this is a pakistan domestic market or JDM model.

D17 is a also a little old but a clean one can be found, it came in eagle eye. Its a jdm engine local civics got d15 and d16 in them. The current model is r18 which is being used since reborn. Even though its 1800cc it will also give pretty good mileage in your civic and has more parts availability as its found locally as well. d17 may have parts issues but not sure. Find some one who has done this swap and take info from him before goong for a swap

Thank you so much for providing me the link, I am going to look for this after removing my air intake carburetor top. I don't know why mechanics don't look for stuff like these and straight tell you that its ring pistons issue. My car has lost zero performance since this issue and for all I know if there is the ring piston issue you should lose power, get oil in plugs, get smoky tailpipe, etc. This car has been only driven on petrol for the last 25 years and has been properly maintained since day one. As it was my Grandfather's and then passed onto me.

Yes thats why you need to check everything first before going for a swap. Imo repair it properly After diagnosis, mechanics just love changing rings as it gives them mucho dinero.

please check on how to do a leak down test.

you should be able to do it at home. using a small compressor like the car tyre inflator. and an adapter that will fit the compressor hose to the spark plug hole.

this will definitively tell you if your rings are bad, or your inlet or exhaust valve are bad.

same case with compression testing. the tester is not exactly expensive. about 3-5k. again do it home. compression testers normally come with a variety of adapters to fit various engines.

D17a. You can get jdm, australian or south africa.
Jdm will be most expensive.

Good engines are expensive. The engine you get with 50k will not be a good one. Diagnosing and Repairing is the best solution.

Have you checked pvc valve?
Normally my engine also exhaling air from the pcv valve breather hose from valve cover at IDLE but when I raise the rpm it start sucking and on this forum that this is how it should work.

If there is no smoke in exhaust and no oil reduction, then doing the basic diagnostics should help.

1- Valve Seals Change
2- Inspection of valves and valve stems
3- PCV valve change
4- Leak down test
5- Compression test
6- Valve Clearance check (Tappet/Shims adjustment)

Actually its just continuously exhausting from valve cover. I'll post a video soon.

Duly noted. I acquired a 92-95 civic "service manual" with complete service guide on PCV and breather box system of civics. This is the first thing that's going to be checked this week. Thank you for your input

I have heard some good things about Osama Car Care in Garden Town. There is Magic Motors in Model Town Bank Square Market I think. Make a Google Maps search. I personally haven't tried any of these as I have my own mechanic who doesn't do these things.
