Civic axle/cvt joints

Hi,
So I bought a used car recently, a civic 18 plate vti oriel, 25k on the clock. For 3 million. I don't know alot about cars.
So I took a friend I think gave me a, right advice anyway. So I have the car for about 4 months. Engine wise it is fine. But i recently started to hear rattling in the wheels I thought it was steering issue as it is common problem as per some people's talk, so I took it to honda today in Lahore, they diagnosed that the steering has next to none sound or problem, although they said they ll order the part and get it fixed for me but the sound is really low so it might get rejected. And the rattling is because of axle and cvt joints. Both front wheels, he said the car is in rough condition from below, the engine shield is gone too. So they quoted, 54k x2, for axles I guess, 4800 x2 for some part, 8600 for shield for engine 10k labour. So altogether it can cost about 145k. Now the crucial question is, shall I get it fixed from them? Or go private, next question is, can I repair axle cvt joints if that's cheaper? Another is, do I have to fix it now now. Is it safe to drive for now, rattling is when I turn the steering on the extreme left or right and accelerate hard, if I go smooth I don't hear anything.

Help is very kuch appreciated.

Well according to them, the boots are leaked, so according to them they were externally been hit or something, which I don't see how. Hence why he gave me an estimate. What do you think.

How come it's a warranty claim even when shield is missing? This car front must be scratched badly somewhere from underneath. Wear and tear isn't a part of warranty, but malfunction is! It's a common sense mate.

Warranty is fully transferable, to new owner but here the reason of issue is some sort of physical damage

If the manufacturer gives defective axles (which has happened with 2018 civics) . They will replace it.

Now as to why the bottom panel is missing on a 2018 car, is a larger question and why was it agreed for purchase.

The reason dealers in pakistan try best to shoo away customer is that the pay for repair under warranty is extremely poor for the mechanic (think 30% of actual labour if you were regular paying) and dealer has to eat some of that cost too of warranty work.

To be honest, as I said I dnow about cars alot. And the truth is I dint look underneath the engine to check for engine shield. So, me going to them and threatening won't work you say? Shall I consider repairing on cost.

It is my mistake I believe, should have taken the car on a lift and checked it out from underneath which I failed to do so. And now I am in puddle. I could take it to consumer court happily, but I wouldn't wanna embarrass myself, do you think they are right about the claim that, it's an external damage, therefore I ll have to get it repaired on my cost?

I would suggest you to get new axles from bilal ganj or just replace its cv joints from outside that gonna save you some hefty amount of money. If you kept driving it like this then your axle will break some day.

Guys. We are getting alittle off topic in here. In my case the engine shield has broken, there's some part of it there, but archon is right, the shield doesn't cover cvt joints. Therefore even if it was hit on the shield, there shouldn't be a problem with axle and cvt joints, since those are alittle up just by the wheels. So what's the final verdict. What shall I do .
