Civic oriel 2018 Transmission fail

Honda Civic Oriel 2018
In short my car transmission has failed out of the blue, I was driving and car suddenly stopped taking any acceleration I thought it’s axel or what,
Car was not moving in any gear R or S and D, dead stop. I was stuck in the middle of the road yet I have maintained this car really well, still got this thing, the mechanic told me the chain is broken and maybe whole transmission which needs to be replaced with new one that costs around 6-7lacs.
I need to ask What’s the best way to fix this ? I don’t wana spend 7 lacs for Honda’s fault to instal Pathetic quality transmission which breaks on it own when you maintain the car to the best and lay another 7 lacs for the same transmission which can break again. I have been changing gear oil before 30000kms and gear oil filters too. My gear was clean as it was changed a month ago. Any way I really don’t know what to do do I really need to purchase the whole transmission again because the girly chain is broken ???

How much is the car driven now? And is it in warranty or not?

The sad truth is that's the cost of CVT ownership. Its simply not as robust as the oldschool shifting units. There is a reason that manufacturers dont install CVT in larger displacement engines.

Anyways, there might be a possibility that the guys who changed the oil either underfilled it or overfilled it.

Also, if you frequently drove it with a hard foot, that's one of the causes of premature CVT failure as well.

I am speechless. A transmission fault on a 3-year old car. Honda Civic X is indeed the very first 0-meter lemon car manufactured by Honda.

I know die hard fans of Honda (akin to those iPhone fans) will bash this advise, but I recommend that you sell it after getting it repaired with a jugaar, and replace this junk car with a Corolla Altis or Hyndai Elantra, both of which are much more reliable. If you are smart and want to save money, buy a more reliable old Honda at half the price.

I own a Honda Reborn mashallah and it feels like a zero meter car even after 14 years.

How does driving on hard foot contribute to transmission failure

Driving a CVT with a hard foot results in excessive CVT fluid heating - its not designed to take a beating. Its designed to spin at the lowest RPM to give the maximum fuel economy on the highway.

A traditional shifting automatic or a manual don't have this problem - you can usually drive them hard all day long.

who was changing your gear oil. A gear oil change can be the biggest reason of CVT faliure. I hope you used honda recommended oil upto a dot.

So it means atleast once in a week we can drive it with really heavy foot

car cvt fluid should not be over heating, if it is overheating than it means that the gear cooler is not working properly. That said, CVTs are still very sensitive as compared to a hardcore auto or manual/

gear problem in this generation ( 10th generation) is a common problem . This problem not happened only with you it happens among about 90% people which are using this generation .
It is Alarming situation for Honda company.
People should raise voice for solving this problem.
And honda should be try to fix it.
Honda company selling this generation at very high rate about 4 to 4.5 million budget in Pakistan which is very high price bracket in sedan category.
And after purchasing this type of expansive car people face this gear problem and pay high amount to fix it which is not good.....

Yar mera to dil hi nahi kar raha is ko bananay ka, that mechanic keeps calling me, I am so disappointed in Honda I can’t tell by words here.

I have used Honda cvt gear oil that Honda recommends for this car, and changed by a educated person who knew how much should be poured in,
I had no issues I was using LM 0-20 mobil oil from the Strat
I bought this car zero meter it wasn't a used purchase.
I always maintained it really really well, I had no issues in it at all Alhamdullilah.
now the CVT chain is broken I really wanna know the reason because it wasn't my fault I have been driving with a light foot.
if it happens for no reason I would not like to keep it or be Honda customer any more and will ask all my family to get rid of theirs too.
if I spend 6.80 lakhs to on this repair I don't find any guarantee that its won't happen again, as I am buying the same transmission again, which can fail anytime, I don't want that,
what should I do?
