Seems the bus side impacted the car. May be the car was crossing an intersection where a bus was already on way.. Running a red signal could be a possibility. Looks like heavy impact crash.
Whatever is the case. Please be safe / remain alert / follow rules and keep your eyes and ears open and most important keep your brain open as well and always think before making any move. Don't ever try to be over smart... Accident happens and its part of road and vehicles being on road but lets try to be as safer as possible..

Let me share some information on side impact crash testing ( The car in test had side/curtain air bags, So will not apply to Local Civic).
